God gave us tears to clean our spirits. Holding back feelings to be manly or brave is hard work and a strain to the body. A long relaxed cry being held by a caring person is very healing. It shifts one from the Sympathetic nervous system used for pain, fear and anger to the Parasympatetic nervous system used for pleasure and love. My partner who is now in the process of deciding what kind of treatment to get for his prostate cancer and I sometimes hold each other and have a good cry, usually after having gotten snappish with each other. I am 83 and he is 77, and we also grieve that one of us will die before the other. Crying is good and healing. A lot of kids have been told, “Shut up or I’ll give yous something to cry about.”

He needs us to pray for a more positive attitude. I hate to post this, but he started crying. He told me he loved me and I was also his family.
...............
Sometimes when we are the furthest down we are the closest to God. Lord thank you for Jim, may this episode make him and his family at home and here very close to you. Thank you for hearing our prayers. Bless Jim and the work he has done here making it a safe place to share our thoughts. In Jesus Name, Amen.

Lord Jesus, we pray that you raise Jim from his sick bed. Give energy to him, body, mind, and soul. Enable him once more to be a force behind FR spreading conservatism and Christianity throughout our land. In Your holy name, Amen.

"He feels he has let everyone down. I asked why; he told me that FReepers have always supported him and he got sick and can’t be there for all of you."
He has let no one down.
This forum he created has been a part of my life for a long time now.
Albeit in spirit, let him know we are here for him now.

Jim — I continue to pray for your complete recovery. Hang in there.
