Trump Endorses Kevin McCarthy, Pisses Off His Own Supporters
Daily Beast ^ | 6/4/22 | Zachary Petrizzo

Despite Donald Trump's own followers booing and calling Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) a “RINO,” the ex-president sent out a statement late Saturday night endorsing McCarthy in his quest for 2022 re-election. “Congressman Kevin McCarthy is an outstanding Representative,” Trump wrote, calling the GOP House leader “strong” and “fearless.” However, after posting the endorsement to his Truth Social platform, Trump's followers expressed disappointment in the comment section.

Who says DeSantis will run? That’s an assumption.

Some of this might just be Trump betting on an already-likely winner — to keep his batting average up…

What does this do except feed Trump's ego? Will a single voter change their mind because Trump has a great batting average with endorsements?

Secondly, he did not need to give such a resounding endorsement of McCarthy either. He could have simply endorsed to hold the seat and omitted the "great leader" garbage which will help McCarthy become Speaker.

If Trump decides to run in 2024 I’ll vote for him, and it will be the easiest thing I do that day.👍

He hasn’t fooled anybody, but in case you haven’t figured it out yet, politics is a numbers game. You can bring things to the floor or keep them from the floor based on numbers. Laws in this country will be based on numbers. If you want a continuation of what we’ve gone through then be impractical. If you want the republic restored you had better get realistic or begin practicing saying “comrade”

We have to learn the lesson of the left. Just keep moving the ball as far as you can without handing it over to the other team.

MO. He’s trying to win back the House and Senate by endorsing those he thinks can win.

On Trump’s behalf, I’ve never met McCarthy. And what I know about McCarthy is FN softball questions and corrupt media articles.

I also know that Trump certainly does his homework before making decisions. He’s also at least publicly admitted that endorsing Georgia Kemp was one of his few (my word) mistakes.

I had also naively wanted Trump to get back into office ASAP. But now that I’m older and wiser, I now know that I had grossly underestimated the size of the swamp and Trump probably did too.

But what Trump probably recognized is that he’d have more flexibility in mopping up the swamp as a private citizen than being limited by constitutional division of government branch powers in tring to stop the very corrupt Democratic machine.

Insights welcome.

Of course you are. That’s why you are here. You goal is to derail any positive discussion about Trump, MAGA, etc. Normal people don’t post info just to say they don’t like it/someone without an agenda. Why? Because no one else cares who someone else doesn’t like. All of your posts on this thread are just noise.

There are no serious challengers to McCarthy in either the primary or the general election in his district. There was no need to for Trump endorse this squish.

Oh wait, since McCarthy is guaranteed re-election this will help boost Trump’s beloved “winning percentage”.

Maybe tomorrow Trump can “endorse” the sun rising in the east and get another big win.

Unfortunately, Trumps biggest enemy is his ego. He was certainly the right person at the right time to expose what many of us already suspected about DC.

I believe that Trump is under the impression that people will just fall in line and lap up whatever he decides. Sadly, while it does work with the sycophants, there is a vast majority that is just tired of the same ol’ situation of just hold your nose and vote the way you are told.

While I do hope Trump enters the race, I really hope that someone like DeSantis is the nominee. Trump can run interference and help weed out the weaklings, tear apart the media, and the RINO’s. But he needs to step aside when the time comes. He made some very poor choices with appointments in his administration, especially allowing family members to participate in roles.

If he’s the nominee, would I vote for him, yes. Do I think he would do better than say a DeSantis, then no.

Nah, he is what he always was: a celebrity. He’s keeping his face out there. That’s his life purpose.
