Most of the Californians I’ve known just LOVE California. It’s not so much a place to be for them. It’s a state of mind. It’s central to who they see themselves as. Over the years I’ve worked at several Florida companies who hired people from California. In every incident I know of, they left for another California job as soon as one came open.
I have to imagine this “homing” instinct is probably the only reason anyone is still living there. Unless, of course, they’re commie, commune hippy types and they love the restrictions there.
