That would only work if EVERY teacher is armed.
But teachers and kids huddled in their classroom should not have to wait over an hour for the threat to be neutralized once the threat is known to the police. If the stories are true that dozens of police were waiting outside the school for ‘backup’ then someone is going to have a lot of explaining to do.
There is also the uncertainty factor. If you’re a gunman and you know you’re not going to meet any resistance you have a different mindset than one who knows there are some armed school personnel in the building, but you don’t who and where they are. It changes the dynamics. Most of these killers are not heroes. They’re cowards that attack unarmed people in gun free zones like schools and shopping malls where they feel pretty secure they aren’t in danger.
The kid got a 26 minute lead on the cops during a 5 mile high speed chase? If they were chasing him they would have been on top of him at 11:29!

I have not seen any confirmation that there was a chase. There was a BOLO alert. After leaving vehicle, he shot at a couple people at a funeral home near the school. They called 911. Seems like that was first confirmation of his location.
Of course, Texas DPS could change the story again.

Simple, at least in this case. The teacher is already where the action is happening and his/her own neck is also on the line. The police just waited outside and attacked parents, so the POS had an hour and a half to slaughter children.

Something I just learned about that shooter. He used only ten round magazines in his rifle.
Same for the Virginia Tech shooter.
Yet one of the things the Dems demand is a ten round limit on magazines.
Yeah and the 2 officers arrived and they got shot at. They had to know if they ran he would get inside. I guess one could have dropped to prone and made himself a small target and returned fire. Easy to say when someone is not shooting a AR at you. But I wonder if he knew that door was locked and why was it open. Aren’t those supposed to be locked.
Might not have been exactly fake, just mistaken as apparently fleeing illegals come through Uvalde and put schools in lockdown pretty frequently. The mayor has complained loudly about the open border.
