Shocking new video has emerged showing Texas cops restraining parents as they tried to rescue their kids on Tuesday after a gunman unleashed terror inside the elementary school, as questions grow over why it took so long to get to the shooter after the first 911 call.
Salvador Ramos, 18, arrived at the school in Uvalde at 11.30am, crashing his car into a ditch.
A school resource officer was at the scene but he failed to stop him from making his way inside.
Two other cops also rushed to the school at that time - Ramos had just shot his grandmother in the face at their home less than five miles away. She survived and called the police.
When they arrived, Ramos is said to have shot at them then ran into the school, where he barricaded himself in the fourth grade classroom and shot 19 kids and two teachers dead.
It took another 90 minutes from that point for police to declare the shooting over.
Now, sources say police were struggling to get into the classroom and needed a key to open the door.
Eventually, a border patrol agent was able to get inside and the shooting was declared over at 1.06pm.
But it questions remain over why it took police so long to get into the classroom where the kids were trapped with the gunman.
One child told KENS 5 that he was able to hide under a desk, but that a girl who yelled out 'help' when police arrived was executed.

May of these commercial doors are steel with those steel reinforcements around the handles, pretty tough for a battering ram. It's not like most flimsy home doors.

I can’t imagine what kind of human being would leave a bunch of little kids locked in a classroom while a psycho shoots them all, and does nothing except prevent the parents from saving their kids.
They looked tough posing with the weapons outside, though.
This makes no sense to me. Wouldn’t the police at least go into the school and get kids out to safety? They know Ramos is in one room shooting, so surround that door/window...maybe shoot the lock? Distract him?
To do nothing? He could have gone to another room and shot more kids.
Fox is reporting that the husband of one of the dead teachers has died of a heart attack. They were childhood sweethearts and had four children.
Very troubled by some of the information coming out about the very long delay in getting in there. Even if they weren’t killed by initial shots some of them may have died due to lack of medical attention that could have saved their lives. Something is really messed up if those reports end up being true.
Public schools are government schools. They can get funding for security. Why $40 B with a B goes to zelensky and we don’t even know who he is but our kids … I pay $7 k per year to schools and I’m just a working stiff and cops can’t do a biannual school shooting exercise? The school is not manned with security. With vets who know how to shoot and how to huge?
Every cop station in this deteriorating country had better get keys to every door to every school in their district to day!!
Hold a briefing with parents end of each school year let them know what they’ve done to practice and prepare

The same thing happened at Parkland where the coward cops refused to go in after the killer. Those scumbags even got their jobs back.
We should start a Murrill McLean Award, for the memorable coward cops, and name it after the Danville, VA policeman that murdered a twelve pound Mimi-Dachshund. Many public comments at this site.

Just had a presser: Shooter was NOT confronted by anyone in the school. No armed security officer in the school, they don’t know why. Took police 12 minutes to respond.
He walked in thru unlocked door, they don’t know why it was unlocked.

SICK! In Texas Too. Cowards in Uniform—They should be help partly responsible for the deaths of Children. Shun them—they belong in some third world corrupto country (or California). They should be haunted by the children they let die. “They were only following Orders” doesn’t Fly here. Pretend heroes is not what we need.
