Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said 40 minutes to an hour elapsed from when Ramos opened fire on the school security officer and when the SWAT-like Border Patrol team shot him. But a department spokesman said later in the day that they could not give a solid estimate of how long the gunman was in the school or when he was killed.

Well 40 minutes from when to when - he was just 3 miles from the school. So there’s a lot of factors we don’t know.
But when it’s your kid in a situation and your right there Parents will always see through that prisim. I’m surprised parents didn’t go in frankly.

No comparison of police responsibilities and the public’s obligation to avail itself of reputable news sources.
One can’t be almost as bad as the other.
We (FD) have body armor on the apparatus and were trained to enter quickly in mass shooter incidents. LEO enters pretty much as soon as they arrive and we are on there backs. It has been shown over and over that when these cowards are confronted they will, as a rule, kill themselves.

He had crashed his vehicle in a ditch - running from where he had shot his grandmother who had called the police - so there’s the time line to her house and then to pursue him.... We don’t know if he crashed his vehicle because he was driving crazy or the police were already in pursuit. These things we’ll know as the investigation unfolds. We do know he was on the run.
Apparently he had on some form of body armor - which indicates, as doees everything else about the shooter, he had plans to shoot up a school. his wasn’t a spur of the moment deal.

It’s like the old saying: When seconds count the cops are minutes away. Or hours.
Hard to believe that we don’t have Rambos as school resource officers. Instead we get Barney Fifes.
Yes, no doubt the story will change as we get more information, but we have seen this in almost every instance. Armed citizens tend to stop these things cold with very few casualties. Cops run away, then spend 40 minutes waiting for the shooter to run out of ammo.
It’s the exact opposite of what the media and democrats say will happen.

All chickens are birds, but not all birds are chickens. All carbines are rifles, but not all rifles are carbines. Likewise, all assault rifles are rifles, but not all rifles are assault rifles. Some carbines are assault rifles. All three categories describe specific, functional features.
Rifle - a long arm with a rifled barrel.
Carbine - a rifle with a shorter barrel.
Assault rifle - a rifle (or carbine) capable of select fire and chambered for an intermediate cartridge.
Shooter’s grandfather told the media that he didn’t have a license, but that is apparently incorrect, as it has been reported that he used a drivers license on his NICS form when he bought the guns.
