— Frustrated onlookers urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman’s rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, witnesses said Wednesday, as investigators worked to track the massacre that lasted upwards of 40 minutes and ended when the 18-year-old shooter was killed by a Border Patrol team.
“Go in there! Go in there!” nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24, who saw the scene from outside his house, across the street from Robb Elementary School in the close-knit town of Uvalde. Carranza said the officers did not go in.

Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said 40 minutes to an hour elapsed from when Ramos opened fire on the school security officer and when the SWAT-like Border Patrol team shot him. But a department spokesman said later in the day that they could not give a solid estimate of how long the gunman was in the school or when he was killed.

They’ve proven that.
No it was three BORTAC agents which is Border Patrol SWAT team members and two sheriffs that made the entry with the three BORTAC members making the breach. They considered it a suicide mission which anyone who has ever been trained in tactical breaching knows the first guy through the breach into a barricaded suspect is taking fire and will be hit. The first guy in with BORTAC took a round to the head but lived which is not the common outcome. I have was SRT in the US military that’s the MP equivalent of SWAT the first defensemen in the breach is considered lost even before entry you make your peace with it and do your duty when making a hostage rescue best case is your body armor saves your life.
Barricaded suspects are so deadly and have the tactical advantage that Dallas DP during the downtown multiple sniper cop shooting didn’t even attempt a breach they send the first killer robot attack on US soil with a bomb disguised as fast food and blew the suspect up by tricking him into thinking it was the food he demanded. They knew sending SWAT into a heavily barricaded shooter who already has demonstrated skills in weapons use is a suicide mission they nearly always are at least one the breachmen gets taken out.
I’m beginning to see signs of cowardly behavior again. I hope I’m wrong.
Reports coming out now is that they did but the police hit them with tasers, had them in handcuffs while the other parents were screaming at the COPS. They messed up. The COPS messed up.
Well they did make an effort then - and the officers did what they’ve been trained to do. Truly a difficult situation for both parents and officers to be in. .....and all because a derranged wild shooter decided he was going to shoot kids and teachers - inlcuding his own family member.
The hero that shot the guy was reportedly a Border Patrol agent, so that probably means he was part of the Border Patrol guys who decided to buck the police head honcho’s orders and go in.
