— Frustrated onlookers urged police officers to charge into the Texas elementary school where a gunman’s rampage killed 19 children and two teachers, witnesses said Wednesday, as investigators worked to track the massacre that lasted upwards of 40 minutes and ended when the 18-year-old shooter was killed by a Border Patrol team.
“Go in there! Go in there!” nearby women shouted at the officers soon after the attack began, said Juan Carranza, 24, who saw the scene from outside his house, across the street from Robb Elementary School in the close-knit town of Uvalde. Carranza said the officers did not go in.

Department of Public Safety Director Steve McCraw said 40 minutes to an hour elapsed from when Ramos opened fire on the school security officer and when the SWAT-like Border Patrol team shot him. But a department spokesman said later in the day that they could not give a solid estimate of how long the gunman was in the school or when he was killed.

Because of fire regulations doors that are locked from the outside have to have mechanisms to open them from the inside. You see these all the time look for the push bars on the inside of the doors. The doors are also not solid they have Windows breaking one of those and reaching inside to push the emergency bar is a way to open a school door. Some not all have glass with chicken wire in them to prevent access like a jail cell visitation room glass. He also could have just shot the lock out he had hundreds of rounds and a rifle more than capable of shooting the locking mechanism to pieces. Then again I could be a janitor didn’t do their job and lock that door.
My understanding is that the school was given some warning in advance and or the murderer crashing the truck outside of the school caused the armed resource officer to come out of the back door to “investigate”. At that point he and Ramos engaged although it is not clear the officer fired at Ramos, but that Ramos fired at him and was able to force himself through the door that the armed resource officer had exited.
Who is paying the civil suits off the grocery store? The kid who shot up the place is not worth much money.
The more that comes out the more it lines up with a looser kid, with crap parents who was never going to amount to anything. He probably was an incel judging by the people who have come forward females he worked with and the internet contacts he had planned on going out in a blaze of glory for a while. His co-workers said for months he talked about working there to save money to buy guns and ammo. Then he clearly tells the girl in Germany he plans to shot his grandma and a school she not being a US citizen doesn’t know to contact the Fed’s but another girl who he was playing games on line with did get so creeped out she contacted the Fed’s who had at least a day to nab the bastard. He is a text book loser incel just like nearly every other mass shooter. They for a profile you don’t have to be criminal minds level analysts to see it.
Some people are just bad seed.
Actually he had no body armor. Just a plate carrier with no plates. Probably using it to hold his mags.
Yes evil walks amongst us. One in ten people have anti-social or psychopathic tendencies. They are not crazy that’s a coping mechanism for people to self sooth themselves. There are evil people who are perfectly in charge of their mental capacity they just completely lack connection to society. One of my favorite Netflix shows is “The Method” it’s Russian but subtitled for those who don’t speak Russian. It’s like criminal minds but better.
Israeli teachers in the school would have been weapons trained and armed in the first place.
It wasn’t a team that went in according to reports.
It was one officer.
If that’s the case then this wasnt a SWAT operation, as they don’t send one guy in... at least not in my experience...
And the lone bp agent, didn’t have same restrictions?
He had less jurisdiction than the cops on scene!
Thanks again. This did answer some of my questions that I didn't get from the initial reports.
You know what the kids and teachers had inside? No rifles. Yet they were allowed to remain inside with the perp.... while they were bleeding to death.
Did the “backup”ever show up? Cause it seems it was a lone federal officer who stormed in. Not a SWAT team.
No tactical vest. He wasn’t wearing armor.
Texas governor Abbot said after he shot his grandmother he took her truck. The link to that press conference is upthread you can also listen to the conference where he says that.
“Ummm..an AR-15 is just a rifle”
...that can shoot through car doors...
BP has tactical response teams that are the equivalent as SWAT. It appears that is what showed up here
If staff and teachers are armed it would be much more difficult, possibly to the point of dissausion.
Let them pick a ‘gun free’ zone to attack. I go armed to church.
The whole thing of “officer safety” first and above all is a disgrace. When I grew up, cops put public safety first.
“Early on I think it was said because of the AR 15’s he was using and the police had just rifles they were told to wait for the back up special unit who are specifically armed and trained for this type of siutation.”
What a load of crap.... I want to see a picture of the cops that did not go in and waited for back up.
The guy that went in and killed the shooter was wearing a baseball cap on his head. now even FOX is making excuses for the cops not going in. It was a kid with an AR.
ANOTHER, “WE SUPPOSED TO STAND DOWN AND WAIT TILL THE SHOOTING STOPS.”
I am glad the off duty border patrol guy wearing the baseball cap show up with some ball and went in to play.
Ha! Wouldn’t surprise me.
One report was he shot his way in, wounded the armed school officer on the way in, then wounded two more police in a shootout, before the special team went in. That was Daily Mail.
