Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the end of the war will be "diplomatic."
"Before, I thought that it would be possible to end only with a dialogue... I thought that it would be a dialogue, that in this dialogue it would be possible to find answers to many questions and many decisions with the Russian side," he said in an interview with the ICTV broadcaster shown during the Saturday telethon.
Now, he said, "I understand that the ending will be diplomatic." "Now it's like a car – not a gasoline or electric car, neither a hybrid. That's why the war is so difficult and the victory will be very difficult. It will be bloody, in battle, but the ending will definitely be in diplomacy," Zelensky said.
"There are things that we will not be able to complete otherwise than at the negotiating table. We want to return everything, the Russian Federation wants not to give everything away," he said.
Macruff to Czechoslovakia in 1938 “Surrender is diplomatic. Try it.....Hitler will take some of your land and be satisfied...
Ukraine has said it can negotiate when Russia has withdrawn from the parts it occupied since February.
Putin says this is not a war, so he is illegally occupying parts of Ukraine and must leave in order to start negotiations
Russia hasn’t advanced west of Kherson. Its hold on that area is tenuous.
In the east as you see above, at best it is a stalemate. In the north east it is retreating
He may be many things, but ti say he doesn’t give a crap ignores the fact that he stayed on in Kyiv in February when the VDV came to kill him.
If our diplomatic arm of our western govs were actually doing their jobs, none of this needed to happen.
Fact
Turkey will scuttle Finland an Sweden
But he was soon surrounded and controlled by ultra-nationalist Russian-hating Bandera-loving Azovites who uttlerly rejected Minsk.
If Minsk had been followed, Crimea remains Russian (As it was from Catherine the Great to Kruschev, but still within the USSR), Donetsk and Luhansk remain in Ukraine, but with the Russian language allowed etc.
Minsk was not good enough, now Ukraine will most likely lose everything inside the yellow circle. Odessa and Kharkiv will be up for grabs.
Ukraine should have honored Minsk.
“Russia is losing this war. I know no serious military analyst with experience in the region who believes otherwise.”
Do you mean the genius generals who led our great victories in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya etc?
The genius generals who are now paid “contributors” on Mockingbird Media MSM, as well as sitting on the boards of Raytheon and Lockheed for a million a year? Those genius generals?
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's victory in the war for its independence would cost tens of thousands of lives.
Quote: "This war is definitely a war of independence. We can say that this is a postponed war. Postponed for 30 years, given how we gained independence in 1991. Or indeed for a hundred years, given our past history.
I have no doubt that we will win, and our history will be like the history of other countries that fought for independence and won, that ceased to be petitioners and became subjects.
But we must remember that the price of all this is tens of thousands of lives. The lives of all those killed by the enemy. Tens of thousands."-Zelensky
Lol, like Estonia, Latvia or Poland? Poor, poor Russia.
“Also, Russians living in Ukrainian cities to not want the Russian army to ‘rescue’ them by blowing their cities and homes to bits, which the Russian army would typically do.”
I don’t think Russia plans to take non-Russian speaking areas. And to date Russian speaking residents seem grateful for the Russian presence. You have to remember there has been ongoing military conflict between both sides there for eight years now and the separatist regions formally asked Russia through their security alliance to help them.
There has not been widespread destruction outside of Mariupol (which most of the residents interviewed there claim was caused by the Ukrainians taking firing positions in their homes in order to be shielded by civilians (a war crime, by the way.)
“Russia is losing this war. I know no serious military analyst with experience in the region who believes otherwise”
Yes the Ukraine will accept Russia’s terms because they want to remain an autonomous country.
“I worked in Moscow training Ivan’s for three years”
You’ve posted this phrase to me three times now.
You don’t capitalize the word ‘Democrat’, your use of the plural for Ivan is incorrect, and your insistent use of ‘Ivan’ as a reference to Russians stinks of forced familiarity.
Just be honest that you’re a Russian. It’s not like you haven’t made it abundantly obvious.
No not Russian, however I do have the benefit of familiarity on the subject matter, unlike the keyboard commandos with preconceived notions. Ex 82nd and at an older age participant of the drug wars ( actions speak much more than words)gives me a perspective that is unobtainable to most.
I will add, I also have the same “ boots in the trenches” life experience with Sauds, Israelis, South Americans, and many other third country nationals, ( TCN’s).
To add, I have been through a conflict or two ( both hot and “ cold”), which gives me the right to say all you war cheerleaders disgust me in your calls for war, war, war. Go sign up, or better yet get your children to go fight, think very carefully ( God forbid) if/ when you great them the last time in a flag draped coffin. I have carried a few, the families anguish is unimaginable. Only then will you realize the error of your ways.
That said, you would do well to pray for the Russian and Ukrainian people, they are victims of corrupted leadership, as is the US. Support neither Vlad or Zelensky, both are evil and corrupted, as is Senile Joe’s war. We are witnessing a divine event, evil destroying evil, a hallmark. Don’t get sucked in.
