California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said Thursday that he is “hopeful” Vice President Kamala Harris will be “the next president of the United States.”
Newsom’s comments came during an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle editorial board. The board asked Newsom, who is running for a second term this mid-term election cycle, “if he would promise to voters that he wouldn’t run for president before the end of that term,” which would expire in 2027.

If we’re honest it wouldn’t be worse, just as bad yes but not worse. Biden is the perfect storm. A rat with both houses who doesn’t have to worry about re-election because he knows he is one term. That is why he is going for broke. Just 4 days ago with the highest gas in history he blocks more areas from drilling.

Yes, he can be appointed as her VP.
They can run on the same ticket, too, but one of them must forfeit California's Electoral College votes if he does.

Could one establish residence in another state? Possible, but unlikely. Cheney at least had been born and raised in Wyoming and had represented Wyoming in Congress, while Newsom and Harris don't have a background in another state. "California" is a dirty word with a lot of people, and that's another reason why it would be unlikely.
That’s my understanding. Not illegal but poor strategy politically.
He is called “ANY THREESOME NEWSOM” for a reason.
He destroyed San Francisco when he was mayor and is currently doing so to California. He stole $1.4 billion without approval from the state to buy masks from a chinese bus company. No masks ever showed up. Same bus company he bought electric buses from that break down constantly and cannot handle the hills in San Francisco.
