The Biden administration has announced it is preparing to fly hundreds of pallets of baby formula from Europe to the United States in an effort to mitigate the ongoing shortage of the infant necessity.
The White House said in a statement Thursday it has identified some 1.5 million eight-ounce bottles of Nestle S.A. formula to transport from Zurich, Switzerland, to Plainfield, Ind., from where it will be distributed.
The flights will be conducted under Operation Fly Formula, which President Joe Biden announced Wednesday along with his invocation of the Defense Production Act directing ingredient suppliers to direct resources to formula makers before filling other orders.
The shipment consists of 246 pallets of the three hyperallogenic formulas of Alfamino Infant, Alfamino Junior and Gerber Good Start, which the White House prioritized as they serve a critical medical purpose and are in short supply, it said.

Dem senators and Reps must be getting nervous because they know what is coming in November. WHY WHY hasn’t a few prominent Dem reps/Sens took a stand against Biden. If the election goes they way it appears today the R’s may have a super majority in the senate.
At 5 pallets per state I’d go with seconds, and with the larger states better have a stopwatch that measures in hundreds of a second.
Everything the Feds touch becomes a SNAFU. Everything.
Mothers can make baby formula very simply if they get off their rear ends. Baby formula was a convenience for mothers not a necessity.
Make it themselves? Why when it’s free thru WIC and in some cases delivered to their taxpayer subsidized house.

At least the GOPee to their credit hasn’t elected one directly from the senate in over a century. Let’s keep it this way. The Great Compromisers cannot lead.
I don’t disagree. But why is the news constantly reporting that Pennsylvania’s Senate race will decide which way the Senate falls - D or R??
Tell me about it. We’re not even at 18 months with our demented diaper President in office and this country ALREADY needs a Marshall Plan for it funded by somebody else.
The problem is that the only funding anybody seems to want to do is to buy off State Attorneys General, Secretaries of State, and the plethora of activist organizations solely focused on vote stealing.
As for FORMULA, I was JUST at my local Walmart and made it a point to go by the formula aisle. Nearly completely bare, except for a few very odd and specialized products I guess not many mothers buy.
While I was there a man and woman not quite my age (72) but you could tell they’d be grand parents approached. The wife was walking up anxiously to the aisle with husband in tow....you could see on her face she was praying something would be there - likely for a daughter or younger relative somewhere else who couldn’t get it, either. It was very sad.
Criminal.
