Don’t worry though, the illegals are covered.
Why did they shut down the barracks? This makes no sense.
Isn’t there an extended stay hotel the Navy could rent out?
Quit sending money to Ukraine and spend it on our own people.
Trailers for sale or rent… rooms to let for .50 cent
I when through this same sort of housing crap, so I know the drill.
McClellan AFB 1977-1978.
Luckily that base bordered a Ghetto so I moved there.
Most thugs don’t Fuk with the military.
Unlike Liberals, even Thugs know where their
freedoms come from.
There’s a novel idea 💡
Nothing is too good for our soldiers and sailors, so that’s exactly what the system gives them.
Key West? These sailors need to buy boats and put their housing allowance toward payments and docking fees.
Because NCO's and officers are above them and all who have served knows, s#!t rolls downhill!
When I was an E-2 and living in the barracks, the only Chow Hall on base was closed for renovations for 9 months.
They decided to give us partial rations at $4.50 per day. We had no refrigerators and one microwave for 80 people on our barracks floor.
Most of us had no car (early 80s military norm), so we were left eating at the bowling alley or rec center.
I still can’t believe leadership let that happen.
Well said.
2 sailors in a trailer off base covered by Uncle Sam?
Quit yer bitchin’
Nothing new here. When my Destroyer returned to San Diego from Yokosuka in 1970 we were sent to dry dock at Long Beach. The Navy refused to give Basic Allowance for Quarters to E-4s and below, saying we had to live on the ship. Right. As it’s being sandblasted and air hoses and cables everywhere.
10 of us rented an apartment, near Compton, and commuted for 3 months. The Navy knew all this but didn’t give a shyt. We weren’t lifers so f*** us. Sure made us want to re-up. Lol.
So these sailors should just suck it up!
Sailors stuck with expensive housing options after Navy shuts down their barracks

Admirals need new expensive toys - the money gotta come from somewhere may as well be from the expendable swabbies budget.
First chance I got, I moved off base. Found a small apartment 12 miles off base, in a town called Traben-Trarbach. I think I broke even on my housing allowance.
Two years later, I was transferred to Spangdahlem, but didn't move. My now 28 mile commute took about 40 minutes, but it was worth it. The drive took me through the Urziger Wurzgarten vineyards.
This is terrible.
Lest anyone thinks I have it in for generals, I was proud to serve with quite a few, such as LTG Jay Garner, BG Johnie Forte, BG Archie Cannon, MG Jim Cercy. These men were all leaders, and I learned a lot from them. Not a Courtney Massengale in the bunch, they were all Sam Damons.
