John Durham goes to court

Special Counsel John Durham enters court on Monday with the first trial of his investigation into the Democrats collusion hoax with Russia. It’s a formality. Mr. Durham has already won.

Perkins Coie attorney Michael Sussmann is accused of lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation by claiming that the dirt on Donald Trump he passed on to the FBI was not delivered on behalf of “any client”. Mr. Sussmann was on the payroll of Hillary Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee and worked extensively with outside actors and the media to produce the collusion narrative as well as documents that fueled FBI investigations into the campaign. of Mr. Trump in 2016, according to the Durham documents. Mr. Sussmann pleaded not guilty.

Commentators have spent the past week wondering whether Judge Christopher Cooper’s rulings on the use of evidence would help or hinder Mr Durham’s case. It doesn’t really matter. Mr Durham has already achieved his far greater goal with this narrow indictment. He put every sordid collusion player in the hot seat, with ramifications beyond the courtroom.

From the day the special counsel released Sussmann’s 27-page indictment in September (and the ensuing charges against case contributor Igor Danchenko), it became clear he had ambitions that were all right. beyond a conviction for lying. Each of his repositories follow the same deliberate strategy – lengthy memoirs and long exhibits full of names, emails and documents, which connect all the dots and expose the web that enabled this hoax, and the lies that led to it. hid.

Democratic superlawyer Marc Elias is not charged, but he also no longer leads Perkins Coie’s elite political law firm. The firm announced last August that Mr. Elias, who had been there for 28 years, was leaving to start his own small practice. Weeks later, Sussmann’s indictment laid bare the role Mr. Elias, a longtime DNC and Clinton attorney, played in ginning up and distributing the false Trump-Russia allegations. .

Christopher Steele, author of the infamous dossier, once hailed by the press as an international super spy, is now a man in search of reputation. The “intelligence” in his file, according to Mr. Durham’s documents, came primarily from a Brookings Institution employee, Mr. Danchenko, who was recycling salacious chatter from a Clinton associate. Whatever work Mr. Steele might find in the future will not include helping the FBI or any other respectable agency.

Fusion GPS, which hired Mr. Steele, has gone toxic in Washington. The Durham lawsuits show how the opposition research firm operates – not by producing real research, but by making underhanded claims to law enforcement, then intimidating journalists into covering “inquiries ” inspired by Fusion. (The meltdown in court filings says his job was to help Perkins Coie with legal advice — a claim the judge largely dismissed Thursday.) The Washington press knows it was played — and how. A recent Durham filing published dozens of emails showing reporters from major outlets chatting with their Fusion narrators, with a Slate writer even sending a draft October 2016 article to Fusion for review. Will the DNC soon hire Fusion? Even gullible journalists will think twice before running with another Fusion track.

There is a lot wrong in that sentence.

Getting the judge to agree documents were being withheld without reason was a big deal. The judge knows now that Durham has the goods.

I just hope that Sussman’s conviction doesn’t diffuse the much needed motivation to go after the major players. He is small potatoes but likely is being used as fodder to do just this.

If a tree falls in the forest but no one hears it…

If a laptop is found but no one is allowed to talk about it.…

If Sussman is convicted but he is let off with a slap on the wrist….

In particular, they misspelled the name of a major government agency—the FIB (Federal Intimidation Bureau).

Agreed. I think the inverse is correct! He will be their go-to guy for their future covert endeavors as he has earned his chops!

John Solomon was on newsmax a couple of months ago and said discovery has been a real dog fight. Clinton and cronies using every trick in the book to keep from releasing documents…

I admit I was shocked that he didn’t go down for the Krinton Krime family from the get go! Even if Durham has trouble in Ft. Marcy park now his material is a matter of record!

Two people corrupted our top intelligence and law
enforcement agencies.

One probably isn’t even a citizen.

The other should have their citizenship revoked.

Pull these two corks out, and the swamp will drain
a lot better.

.
Sussman has the same exact single count charge that got the other guy zero jail, zero fine, zero inconvenience.

Judge called the first criminal - “a good man” in court.

The Washington press knows it was played

The Washington press was not played, it was a player. MSM journalists knowingly spread the DNC falsehoods.
