Seniors and other people who rely on Social Security benefits could next year see their biggest cost-of-living adjustment since 1981, with an advocacy group for older Americans forecasting an 8.6% hike.

Where is this money coming from???

Who cares???

This is the looting and plundering phase of the end of an empire. Take what you can get. That’s what our representatives are doing.

Yeah they do but they won’t use them. It used to be you knew what the increase was going to be mid November. This last year it was almost the end of December before we got the notice.

Seriously, they don’t care, they will just change the formula for “inflation” and it will somehow end to being around 5%

Ok, then what else is the purpose? The goodness of their hearts? It’s all vote buying.

Yes, I think anyone in that situation would be the democrat’s prime support.

SS/SSDI people are one of the dem’s primary voter block. It’s not up to debate, it just is how it is.

Thats right. We paid our dues, played the game. Went to work for 50 odd years. They can give trillions to foreigners so I have no problem with a measily COLA increase.

Costs jump 32% (pulled out of u kno wher), but 8.6% is not
going to cover it by a long shot.

Gasoline alone is going to drive up costs on many things by
a third.

Big deal. Real inflation is a lot higher than 8.6%.

If CBS News is talking it up, you know this automatic COLA be touted as a Biden “accomplishment”.
