Twenty two years ago when South Cali was in the midst of a super heat wave I e-mailed a friend there that we in the Ozarks had so much power we were opening outlets and letting it drain out on the ground.

Yeah. I looked up my kW schedule a while back, and it was
$0.43 per.

I bought my own EcoFlow Delta Units and the city doesn’t
get much business from me anymore. LOL

Is it financially sound to do just this? No. It’s the principle,
and I have other projects I use them for.

Boondock camping, and at some point hopefully a tiny home
of my own construction.

I bought a small BMW i3s Rex a while back. I charged it
at home a few times, but I pay $0.31 per kW down the
road, and it’s a fast charge. 20 minutes, from 25 to 80%.

I can go 100 miles on that, and that takes care of 100%
of my driving needs, at this point.

Just having a lot of empty space isn’t enough to build a wind farm and make it go. Benton Washington PUD exists to serve communities in the eastern Washington region, noted for robust and persistent winds, as any resident of Kennewick or TriCities area can tell you. They quit the wind power business a couple years ago because the engineering and economics of integrating intermittent energy sources into a power grid became impractical given the host of variables involved.

Because....electricity just beams into your home, pollution free. No nukes, no oil, no coal, no giant wind turbines made from weird things that will never decompose, no solar panels, no batteries. Just “clean power”!

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My dad led the first wind turbine development program at GE. They spent a huge amount of time surveying wind sites all over the west and Hawaii. To be economical, you need certain wind velocities, not too high and not too low. The winds have to blow a certain amount of the time in that velocity range.

You’d be surprised to learn how little of the vast open spaces in the US are actually good wind turbine sites because of the wind characteristics. Why do you think wind farms are congregated where they are? Do you honestly think you can plop a wind turbine down anywhere and it will make economical energy? Sorry to disappoint you, Dangus.

And continue to buy power from AZ nuclear plant, OR Hydro and NV solar.

When their electric cars burst into flames they can use them for cooking when their ranges don’t work for lack of electric.

Could be I had the wrong pan. I can imaging a good pan
that spread out the heat would have probably worked.

My wife and our former chef son buy all of our pans.

The non cast iron seem to loose their effectiveness.

My wife has become the cookie sheet and parchment payment chef.

80-95% of our dinners are done on so called heavy duty cookie sheet pans with parchment paper between the goodies and the cooking surface of the pan. She does the main course and usually 1-3 veggies at the same time.

The parchment paper cuts down on food sticking to the pan and seem to enhance the flavors. Clean up is easy, just throw the used paper into the compostable waste container and rinse off the cooking side of the cookie sheet and wipe and let it rack dry.

You will have to work at home as tires are made out of fossil fuels. So is most electricity too for that matter.

What is going to generate said electricity?

Funny how the eco-Nazis always forget about that part.

My wife and I designed and built our house in 1999. We live in hurricane country, so I wanted as many gas appliances as possible because of storm related power outages.

It has paid off many times.

True, but most states don’t generate all their energy in-state.

Okay, very good point, and CA most certainly does not. I missed that nuance, sorry.

its even worse, CARB wants to suck all the “carbon” out of the air too...

Boneheads. Green plants require CO2. Green plants produce oxygen and physical cells from CO2. Carbon based, oxygen breathing life generates CO2. It's a system that exists in balance. It is possible to have too little CO2. In that case, green plants die, then oxygen consuming life dependent on the green plants dies.

Green plants require a minimum of 150 PPM of CO2. Current atmospheric CO2 as of May 10, 2022 is 420 PPM. Past levels have been as high as 1500 PPM. CO2 becomes a hazard above 5000 PPM (inside a closed workspace).

It is a good idea to avoid sharing air with other humans in a COVID pandemic. A desktop CO2 meter can indicate inadequate air circulation. A reading near atmospheric 420 PPM indicates plenty of fresh air. Cruising above 1000 PPM indicates a need to open a window and exchange some of the built up air exhaled by the living creatures inside.
