The biggest baby formula supplier in the U.S., whose Michigan plant was shutdown nearly three months ago, claims the bacterial infection that killed at least two infants did not come from their products.
In mid-February Abbott Laboratories issued a nationwide baby formula recall and ceased operations at its plant in Sturgis, Michigan amid reports of babies contracting bacterial infections from its products.
An Abbott spokesperson told DailyMail.com Tuesday that 'thorough investigation' by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Abbott revealed 'infant formula produced at our Sturgis facility is not the likely source of infection in the reported cases and that there was not an outbreak caused by products from the facility'.
However, despite the findings of the investigation, the plant remains shuttered nearly three months later.
The FDA - which said it found food safety violations at the plant, as well as five strains of Cronobacter, a bacteria that can cause blood infections and meningitis - has refused to say when the plant can resume operations.
Abbott claims they are 'working closely with the FDA to restart operations' at the plant, with the spokesperson noting: 'We continue to make progress on corrective actions and will be implementing additional actions as we work toward addressing items related to the recent recall'.
The FDA told DailyMail.com it was holding discussions with 'Abbott and other manufacturers to increase production of different specialty and metabolic products'
Abbott alleges that none of the formula distributed to consumers tested positive for Cronobacter or Salmonella.
The manufacturer claims the FDA and Abbott officials both tested retained products for the bacterias and yielded negative results.
Abbott notes no trace of Salmonella was found at the Sturgis plant and the Cronobacter that was found in environmental testing during the investigation was in non-product contact areas

My kid’s doctor in the 70s had a unique plan where solids were started at seven days. Just a little. Rice at 7, fruit at 10, meat at 14 and veggies at 21. They tolerated well, slept well and thrived. This doctor had delivered and looked after thousands of babies. With solids, the baby gets more of a variety of nutrition from actual cooked and pureed food.
Wet nurses making big bucks soon.
Because those in charge want to kill us all (except for the few they want to keep as serfs). but especially they go after babies who can’t even talk back, much less fight back.
But don’t worry, adults. Your ‘hunger games’ are coming up quickly too.

This seems to be a strange statement. If Abbott can’t produce it’s usual product due to violations, why should it be able to produce a “different” one? Also, what are those “different specialty and metabolic products” and have they been tested?

Matt Walsh show was talking about it. Said some cities are charging 120 dollars per can of good formula. Women were crying and desperate (one in particular had a baby with digestive system disorder) as they couldn’t afford it.

The ONLY fix is to pass the “Build Back Better” bill. Because that will fix everything.
Before that can happen, Congress needs to repeal Civil Service protections. Then the Senate needs to greatly cut back on the number of positions that need Senate confirmation to that confirmations of replacements can happen in a reasonable time.
There are currently 1,200 positions that require Senate confirmation, which is why Trump ended his term with most unfilled (and thus effectively held by Obama holdovers)

Is it just possible the parents caused the problem? Did anyone ask that question?

When the FDA come in they WILL find things that are wrong. Because it is impossible to meet all government standards especially when they are looking for a reason. In this case they claimed that the formula was the source of the bacteria that killed the children. Odd that they did not test the formula to be sure but just kind of ass-u-me-d. But it is the Fed. If they were competent they would have honest jobs.
But the formula apparently was NOT the source.
You would think that the Fed would be charging off to find out what was. But "Nah... it'll be FINE," they said.
