Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s leaked draft opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization is a masterpiece of jurisprudence and a long-overdue victory for the preborn. Should this opinion become the official holding of the Court, it will also be the vindication of decades of tireless effort from pro-life advocates and the conservative legal movement.
We should take a moment to appreciate the historic nature of this decision. While the leaked draft decision in Dobbs would not ban abortion in America—despite what its detractors would have you think—it would be a monumental step forward. If the Court adopts a decision of this nature, for the first time in nearly 50 years, legislatures in every state, democratically elected by voters, will be able to regulate abortion as they see fit.
Undoubtedly, many states will make decisions I find grievously wrong, but others will be free to enact laws that protect all human life. States will be free to acknowledge in law the truth that abortion is not health care, and that a preborn child is a distinct, unrepeatable human life.
The moment is not without some sense of loss, however. I am deeply upset that an employee of the Court could betray the trust of the justices and the judicial process by leaking the draft opinion. Yet, I am confident that this attempt to exert political pressure on the Court will ultimately not succeed.
None of that can overshadow the great victory that appears to be just around the corner. What lies before the Supreme Court now is the test of weathering the political storm. The line has been drawn, it appears that Roe will soon be overturned.

Everyone was pretty aware that Roe had a good chance of being overturned. Alito did a good job of formatting the case....and leaves no doubt...this is a State matter and always has been.
Thank you, Jesus.
Imagine being a Democrat right now.
From their point of view, the odious Donald Trump has been removed from power, and Joe Biden has been made president. The Congress is controlled by Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, two militant leftists. They have just confirmed another militant Obama accolyte to the Supreme Court.
And then Roe vs Wade is no more. Their Magna Charta is gone. And their Blessed Sacrament, abortion, will be subject to the will of (horror) the people.
Despair will descend like we haven’t seen since November, 2016 (when they realized that both Obamacare and Roe vs Wade in danger of being eliminated).
Can’t wait!
If Mike thinks this is the start of an anti-abortion wave, he is seriously mistaken.
Mike might be able to pass a ban in Red Utah.. but the backlash will be swift and the far left will make huge advances in late term abortion laws for “all persons capable of pregnancy.”
Less than a half dozen states could actually pass a ban... and anyone who wants an abortion could travel across state lines and get one.. except for the poor. So a good recipe for unwed mothers with multiple children on welfare. Yay.
Don’t celebrate yet until they sign on the dotted line! Other than that just keep praying for the unborn babies/children. There’s still a chance they can flip.
No where in the constitution is there anything related to abortion.
STATES ISSUE, NOT A FEDERAL ISSUE.
I don’t get it. With this extent of lawless democrats have shown over years, why do they care some statue get overturned?
“There’s still a chance they can flip.”

Yup...watch out for Roberts.

Nothing in politics is ever settled until it is settled the way the left wants it settled. We who are defending the lives of the unborn must never assume that we will get a moment’s peace, or that we will ever experience the babykillers’ surrender.
Ping
Same with health care.
RE: A major pro-life victory is near if Supreme Court can resist the political storm
My take - John Roberts is the weakest link. His record proves it.
This is not a pro life issue, it is a Constitution issue. I think Republicans make mistake when we say otherwise.
