Manchester Township, York County — With only eight days until the primary, one York County representative is breaking ranks and stepping outside of the norm, endorsing two candidates running against the establishment.
The political move is being called “unprecedented” and “shameful.”
“It's unfortunate this day has come, but I can stay silent no longer,” said Representative Mike Jones, (R) 93rd District.
Silence has never really been a strong suit for Representative Jones. The York County Republican is throwing his weight behind two challengers, Wendy Jo Fink and Joe D’Orsie, two political newbies.
Fink is running against 30-year-veteran Representative Stan Saylor, House Appropriations Chairman, in the 94th District. D’Orsie is running against 20-year legislator Representative Keith Gillespie in the 47th District.
“Twenty years, much less 30 years, is far too long. It's time for change,” said Rep. Jones.
“I don't think our Constitution is conditional upon a pandemic. I think it's pretty black and white,” said D’Orsie, Republican candidate for the 47th District.
Upset about the lack of action from both Representatives Saylor and Gillespie during pandemic restrictions and budget negotiations throughout the Wolf administration, Rep. Jones, Fink and D’Orsie are vowing to change the establishment.

Ditto. 🙂
Ping.
The truth be known Mike Jones is my state rep and I know the two incumbents being challenged by conservatives this year I’ve known Stan and Keith for years.
They’ve been following the liberal GOP leaders in Harrisburg for way too long.
Now they’re running scared Keith and Stan actually voted for “school choice” the other week and helped to pass it in the State House the first time ever in a legislature controlled by Republicans.
Wolf will veto it anyway if it gets to his desk.
For years they paid too much attention to PSEA the teachers union and not “We The People”.
I had lunch with Mike Jones a few years ago. He impressed me then. Even more now.
