Twitter employees reading the tea leaves as they try to discern the future in an Elon Musk-owned company received some bad news last week.
Musk recently prepared a presentation for investors, known as a pitch deck, that outlines some of the moves he’s planning for the social media giant, according to The New York Times.
The deck includes Musk’s plans to expand the company, which in the long run will expand its workforce.
However, it makes it clear that about 10 percent of the workforce that starts 2023 will not finish the year.

I meant cut 10% of the original employees each year. So start with 7500 people. Cut 750 each year of that original batch for 10 years.
Actually you probably don't need to cut them all. Definitely, cut all the ones involved in censorship. Unless there was a voice of reason in that crew, that was against it.
Actually, the literal definition of “decimate” is 10% losses. Not hyperbole at all. The Romans would decimate a unit by killing every tenth man (chosen randomly). The term has also been used for 10% tithing. But the sloppy general usage is now to indicate simply a large proportion - which is itself pretty vague.
I don’t think when you couple the term with the word “bloodbath” you are using the word decimate with the precise meaning you allude to. I think such nuance is beyond the authors intellect.
