The United States will face "unimaginable consequences" if it plays the Taiwan card and Beijing will not be intimidated by sanctions like those on Russia, a Chinese foreign vice-minister has said.
Le Yucheng told an online security forum on Friday evening that it was "ridiculous" to blame China for Russia's invasion of Ukraine and accused the US of sacrificing Ukraine for its own geopolitical interests.
China has been criticised for not condemning Russia's invasion, and the US and its allies have expressed concern over the security of Taiwan, which Beijing considers a breakaway province be to reunified with the mainland - by force if necessary.

In response to American warnings that China would face similar sanctions to those placed on Russia if it attacked Taiwan, Le said "China must be unified, and will be unified", and sanctions and isolation "could absolutely not scare China".
"What kind of storms haven't we weathered in the more than 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China?" he said, adding that in the past few years the US had already taken coercive measures - such as tariffs, reducing cooperation, arresting people on espionage charges - but was not able to break China.
"Not only has China not collapsed, but we are still thriving with each passing day. What else do we have to fear?"

Sanctions are the last thing ChiComs have to worry about if they attack Taiwan.
Gosh, we’ve been waiting with baited breath over that China.
Good grief do they have a swelled head...
Never listen to China they are world class propagandists and bullies.
They fear sanctions and they fear an all out war.
At this point, I’d consider giving Taiwan nukes. Quietly at first.
After the end of Russo-Ukranian war, Ukraine needs to get their own nukes and have them aimed at Moscow and St. Petersburg.
We’re probably both crazy, but I think Japan and Taiwan need nukes against China.
Probably not going to happen.
It should. Then China won't get any ideas.
Im scared. Maybe China will something horrble like steal secrets and flood the world with inferior counterfeit products. /s
Russia is more our ally then Germany , France and Great Britain. Let me guess triple vaxxed ? Our nato friends helped rig our election and are just as tyrannical as mother Russia. We murdered men women and children in impoverished countries and called it the war on terror. If anything we should nuke ourselves . If we did give Ukraine nukes zelensky would just sell them to the highest bidder.
Would make sense to have Japan get nukes , Taiwan has a lot of ccp infiltration like Canada and Australia and the Biden’s do. They will take over Taiwan like they did to us Australia and Canada . Without war.
Agree - Chinas not worried about sanctions and would never tell even if they were.
China’s observed for years how santions work when the US begins to implement them on countries, and then leverages the EU and other nations to get on board.
They have as strong of stronghold on manufacturing and other significant production as Russia did oil. ..and you can bet Europe and Asian countries are not going to be quick to Sanction China.
“Agree - Chinas not worried about sanctions and would never tell even if they were.”
I said ChiComs not China.
If Russian equipment performance is any indicator (and since a lot of Chinese equipment has Russian origins) we have little to worry about.
If China would just remember that anything they tell Joe Biden, will have to be repeated to Donald Trump, maybe they wouldn’t say it in the first place.
The ChiComs have ZERO to worry about if they attack Taiwan while Deep States (plural) are still in charge.
