“When inflation goes up, we’re going to wipe out 50% of the U.S. population,” he told Stansberry Research earlier this month.
“if you did not sell, you did not lose.”
True but other income is needed until it shows a profit. Time + Money Invested with Interest compounds into profit.
One reason Warren Buffet is so wealthy is he’s been invested in the market a very long time. Personally, I’d like to retire before I’m 91. Don’t need a whole bunch either.
Don’t need a whole bunch either.

As times get harder, I prefer being average. No need to advertise at all. Property can ‘go gray’, just like people.
My sister is named Bubbles.

Bubbles was only happy to please the fella.
Babs was a good girl.
I disagree.
Why not sell, reap the profit? Watch the market crash, and count all your cash?
Why do financial managers frown on investors making money?
They seem to also frown on preferred stock.
BUMP! I stopped reading the second I saw mention of Stansbury Research.

That’s a good question. Here’s the problem, something I learned from my own experience. It’s easy to know when to get out - today might be a good time! But it’s tough to know when to get back in.
Folks who are wise enough to know when to get out are usually not wise enough to know when to get back in. And so they miss the recovery. I think that’s one reason why over long periods of time index funds beat actively manage funds.
And now a caveat. These are not normal times. So who knows? As for me, I’m sticking with the rule, stock percentage = 100 - your age.
Lots of experts don’t like that rough rule. And maybe they’re right. But it works for me.
I recently read a quote attributed to Warren Buffet to the effect that the stock market is a mechanism through which the impatient give their money to the patient.
Go elsewhere; even Rhode Island has a relatively rural area near the intersection of the Connecticut and Massachusetts border. Come to Puerto Rico; the climate is wonderful and food grows naturally.
I think the market is going to crash back down to 2,000. (From 33,000).
I owned some GE stock, I watched the value go down, down, down. The news kept saying that the stock was solid. I lost a ton of money. From then on, I purchase preferred stock and collect the dividends (8%).
