Stacey Abrams Chances of Beating Republicans in Georgia, According to Polls
Newsweek ^ | 05/06/2022 | Jason Lemon

Democratic activist and second-time gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams aims to build on the energy of President Joe Biden's 2020 win in Georgia to flip the governor's mansion blue, but polls suggest the former state House of Representatives minority leader still faces an uphill battle.

Georgia has not been led by a Democratic governor since 2003. The conservative southern state also has a significant Republican lean, which polling analysis site FiveThirtyEight assesses as being plus 7.4 points in the GOP's favor. But in 2018, Abrams lost to Brian Kemp, who is now the incumbent Republican governor, by a relatively narrow margin of just under 55,000 votes—about 1.4 percent of the total ballots cast.

Nominate Kemp and she will be the next Gov of GA.

I believe that this is the plan. Kemp is the designated loser. No jail time.

How do you figure this belongs to the Republican establishment if she wins, doesn’t that accomplishment belong to the residents of Georgia who cast a ballot?

Georgians need to elect STRONG MAGA candidates to the STATE house and senate to box Abrams in, I am sorry but Kemp disenfranchised the voters of Georgia HE KNEW the election was fraudulent and he DID NOTHING!! So NOW we reward him because Abrams is a damn Marxist what the hell is Kemp LETTING an election be stolen, I am truly sorry but letting a fraudulent election stand is the worst of ALL BETRAYALS to the voters of Georgia!! NO WAY should he be rewarded with Georgian votes NO WAY!! He damn well knows his primary will be won with dem votes and he also KNOWS that Georgians will probably hold their nose and vote for this POS, I say send the bastard PACKING and get rid of Abrams in 2 years make sure your STATE legislators you vote for are FIGHTERS and make Abrams a moot governor!!

Incumbents generally do better the second time around in rematches against the same opponents unless they do a really bad job in governing. See Joe Biden.

The most comprehensive review I can find is a 2017 article on senate races showing six change of winners in 46 US Senate races since 1914, the last in 2008. The article refers to Josh Mandel/Sherrod Brown rematch, “Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel (R) announced a long-expected 2018 U.S. Senate bid against Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH), who defeated Mandel 51%-45% in Ohio’s 2012 Senate contest.”

In presidential elections, William Henry Harrison, Andrew Jackson, and Thomas Jefferson have won rematches. Adlai Stevenson, Thomas Dewey, William Jennings Bryan & Henry Clay lost both of there races.

When I did my rematch search, an article about a rematch in the Philippines presidential race came up. It is not a rematch of the same office, but the two people running for the higher office.

In the 2016 . . . vice presidential elections, . . . House representative from Camarines Sur Leni Robredo of the Liberal Party won against Senator [Ferdinand] Bongbong Marcos . . .

He is the second child and only son of former president, dictator, and kleptocrat Ferdinand Marcos Sr. and former first lady Imelda Romualdez Marcos.

Voting for the presidential election is happening right now. Marcos is leading a 10 candidate field. Opinion polling shows him 30 points ahead of Robredo.

Opinion polls in the days ahead of the vote showed Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr comfortably ahead of his rivals, giving him a real chance at turning the tables on Vice President Leni Robredo, who is running second in the polls.

If we man the ballot drop off boxes being used to illegally stuff ballot boxes, we will have s small chance of winning this.

"If you would rather have Porky Abrams inside the city gates, go ahead. I will take Kemp over Old Snaggletooth any day."

All that I can say in reply is that voting for GOPe scum like Kemp is why trannies and freaks rule over you because you take betrayal like a like a little bitch.

I hate all the GOPe, but I’m damn smart enough not to spew crap about every person in the GOP like your diarrhetic mouth did with your original post. BTW Genius what party did President Trump run as and continues today? Rhetorical question that you need not worry your precious little heart about, I know the answer.
