President Eisenhower, in his final address to the nation, uttered words that will remain relevant for ages.
The following is a key excerpt from that speech:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist.

The military-industrial complex that Eisenhower was referring to is the nefarious alliance among governments, arms manufacturers, arms dealers, and mercenaries.
This is a coalition that profiteers from wars and hence uses its powers to compel governments to enter optional conflicts. The fact that the lives of civilians and armed personnel are lost and trillions of taxpayer dollars are wasted hardly matters to them.
This is a symbiotic relationship.
The arms dealer or defense contractor donates to the politician and perhaps promises them lucrative jobs after their retirement from politics.

I was 12 years old at the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis and I remember it very well.
This is thousands of times worse, and there are people right here on this site cheering for the US sinking Russian warships in the Black Sea, hiding behind the ludicrous cover story that it's the Ukrainians doing it.

Answer: the Biden bunch is baiting Russia into an incident. Maybe shooting down an American plane, sinking a US ship, “accidental” missile strike killing an American politician. That, of course, will precipitate American military reaction. And here we go again. I really believe the Administration is seeking a scenario like that.

You’re damn right I’m cheering the sinking of Russian warships by Ukrainian-built missiles. Russians on social media are constantly talking about how their military equipment is superior and even how they can win a nuclear war. It is good to remind them that other folks have stuff too. It lessens the chance of Russia doing something stupid.

Most people here will post that if China sunk a US warship in the open ocean, with zero civilian casualties and zero collateral damage, that we would and should kill 200 million Chinese civilians by incinerating Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and multiple other targets.
If rational, emotionally healthy FReepers believe this, what do you think the Russians believe about US attacks on their warships in the Black Sea?
Zelensky is not responsible for what came before him and, if you haven’t noticed, he’s kind of busy right now.
Also, it would be grossly stupid of him to open an investigation into the Biden Administration that is right now his #1 source of support.
Feel free to write to your Senator/Congressman and ask them to investigate Hunter Biden’s laptop. We have all the evidence we need right there.

Russians have a collective mental illness and arrogance that is growing. The pop song about taking Alaska is only one example. Another is the bragging about their “New York” bomb. Another is Putin’s little talk about Russians “will go to Heaven”, but the other nationalities will just die.
And I don’t think “most people here” believe in nuclear retaliation over conventional actions.

President Ronald Reagan watched the film more than a month before its screening, on Columbus Day, October 10, 1983. He wrote in his diary that the film was “very effective and left me greatly depressed,” and that it changed his mind on the prevailing policy on a “nuclear war”. The film was also screened for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. A government advisor who attended the screening, a friend of Meyer’s, told him “If you wanted to draw blood, you did it. Those guys sat there like they were turned to stone.” Four years later, the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty was signed and in Reagan’s memoirs he drew a direct line from the film to the signing. Reagan supposedly later sent Meyer a telegram after the summit, saying, “Don’t think your movie didn’t have any part of this, because it did.”
Zelensky is responsible as it's about a crime syndicate having influence on the Ukrainian government.
As for being busy, he's busy now because he didn't open the investigation when he first got into office.
