President Eisenhower, in his final address to the nation, uttered words that will remain relevant for ages.
The following is a key excerpt from that speech:
In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist.

The military-industrial complex that Eisenhower was referring to is the nefarious alliance among governments, arms manufacturers, arms dealers, and mercenaries.
This is a coalition that profiteers from wars and hence uses its powers to compel governments to enter optional conflicts. The fact that the lives of civilians and armed personnel are lost and trillions of taxpayer dollars are wasted hardly matters to them.
This is a symbiotic relationship.
The arms dealer or defense contractor donates to the politician and perhaps promises them lucrative jobs after their retirement from politics.

The only thing cartoonish is your notion that Russians didn’t invade Ukraine of their own volition, as they have repeated invaded their neighbors over the last few decades.
I believe it all depends on how successful the Roe leak is. If they believe that the leak has stirred up enough outrage to allow them to keep power? Then it won’t happen. But, should that leak NOT prove to be the saviour some hope it will be, then I wouldn’t put ANYTHING past them to try to hold onto power.
Curious, how would Zelensky investigating Biden/Burisma have deterred Tsar Pidor Putin’s violent invasion of Ukraine?
And why are you using Tahoma font instead of the default font for FR?
That’s a nice picture of the Kremlin.
Sans serif fonts strain eyes less on computer screens and for short texts.
Serif fonts strain eyes less on paper and for long narratives.
Tahoma has an advantage over Arial and Calibri in that it differentiates uppercase I and lowercase l. (Ill vs Ill for example).
Thank you.
It would have kept the Russia from fighting a proxy war with the U.S. We wouldn't tolerate a Russian controlled government of Mexico or Canada any more than the Russians will tolerate a CIA controlled country on their border.

Another video of Zelnsky dancing to entice homo-sexuals.
“We wouldn’t tolerate a Russian controlled government of Mexico or Canada.”
Nonsense. Cuba has been arguably Russian controlled and allied with Russia and the US has tolerated this for sixty years.
And Russia has had to tolerate the USA itself on their border.
He’s successfully enticed you so I suppose it works.
The closest non-connected country to the USA is Russia..
Nah I just did a Google search so you are aware of Zelensky’s homo-sexual tendencies.
“Nah I just did a Google search so you are aware of Zelensky’s homo-sexual tendencies.”
Are there any other ‘homo-sexual’ videos in your collection that you’re just dying to share with the folks here on Free Republic?
Tolerated? Only after we funded a failed overthrow and attacked them with U.S. airplanes and crews.

but again, we wouldn't tolerate Mexico and Canada serving as proxies for Russia.
Yet both Mexico and Canada at times have indeed served as proxies for Russia. I don’t recall that we invaded either country because they were cozy with Russia at various times.
In any case, just because Ukraine wants to choose their own friends is no excuse for Soviet Russia to invade their country, kill people, and steal their oil and gas reserves so Russian billionaires can buy more superyachts.
Stop. There is no justification for Soviet Russia invading Ukraine.
Period.
The only thing left to discuss is how many Russian orcs need to die before the Russians go home.
