I read the propaganda on both sides and try to interpolate somehow. Neither side is blameless, and I’m hearing tons of provably nonsensical propaganda from “our” side (you know, the ones that invade any country any time we want).

But, I know you're the one buying the propaganda. The Russians are the ones winning over the people of the areas they are taking over. Those areas are willing flying the Russian flag, converting to the ruble and Russian internet. That is not surprising because the Russians are viewed as liberators in the areas they are in because the majority there are of Russian ethnicity.
Keep believe the Biden regime and Zelensky, though, it will make you feel better about all the money we're pouring into Ukraine.

Based on cellphone calls that Ukraine intercepted....there are some folks there. They appear uncooperative for the propaganda pictures...in fear that when things flip...the Ukrainians will arrive and punish for cooperation.

You're clueless as to what is happening. I've seen the videos of civilians in the areas the Russians are in. They consistently have said the Azovs and Ukrainian area have been using them as human shields and try to kill them if they try and leave. The Russians are the ones rescuing the civilians.
That probably explains why the Russian flag is being raised in city after city in eastern and southern Ukraine, the currency is being converted to rubles and internet services being transferred over to Russian providers.
The narrative you're giving comes from the Biden regime and Ukrainian government, both of which lie like they breath.
Everything you've been brainwashed to believe about Russia is actually true of Ukraine. It's not a country the resembles a democracy. Do you really think the people whose homes are being destroyed by this Russian tank firing repeatedly into an apartment building in Mariupol are happy about it? Most likely they got killed by the Russians in the tank.
