Extremely sad but true. Every time they find a mass grave site or the streets are littered with bodies - even the Ukrainian Army soldiers are trying to find a way of escape out of Ukraine.
Additionally the main reason why many Ukrainians are leaving their homeland is because of structural economic problems that preceded the conflict. What better opportunity when being welcomed as refugees.

I tend to agree with that also.
The US supported the coup of a democratically-elected president, and we did it in Russia's backyard.

No, you're missimg the point. Both sides spent money trying to influence Ukraine, the problem for Putin is that Ukrainians want to be part of Europe, because of the wealth, and not part of some Russian-Asian-Bananastan bloc.
Simple NATO is 'moving closer to Russia' because Putin keeps threatening and invading neighboring countries. That's why Finland and Sweden will join.
