House Democrats intend to move in the coming weeks to pass legislation designed to rein in skyrocketing gas prices, the head of the House Democratic Caucus said Wednesday.
Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) did not commit his support for a federal gas tax holiday, which has divided Democrats on and off of Capitol Hill.

Lemme guess: price controls, just like uner Nixon! Now high prices will be accompanied by long lines and odd-even days!
Too bad my dad doesn’t have the old family wagon. It would be like “the good ol days” when I helped push during the rationing days.
They will deem it............................
problem solved
Gee, just intimate to buy votes for midterms. Lemme guess- they will act right around Oct to get prices down
Is there some kind of forthcoming election or something? Next thing you know democrats will start showing up in black churches with pockets filled with hot sauce
The simple solution would be to open up the drilling. Whey do they keep catering to the low IQs that want to live on unicorn farts>
Really? They are going to reverse all of Biden’s energy policies and restore Trump’s?
Oh this is gonna be good! Get the popcorn ready folks. Modern Economic Theory is about to teach us another train wreck of a lesson.
Biden already announced his solution... Further restrict supply and tell people to buy $70,000 electric cars.
Stuff like this is exactly why I put solar onto the house. The day will come when they ration electricity like they do in third world California.
Unicorn farts: unnatural gas.
This is straight out of “Atlas Shrugged” and Directive 10-289. As if they think they can legislate away problems.
Impeachment? Mass resignations?
Impeachment? Mass resignations?
> Wage and price controls! <
You can bet they’re thinking about that. But I think they’ll accuse the oil companies of price-gouging first. And threaten the company executives with arrest. That would be dangerous nonsense, of course. But it would kick the can down the road a bit.
Every dollar spent beyond $2.00 on fuel is a direct tax credit from any amount of tax owed. How’s that?
They don’t understand it - they’ve already had their media parrots tell the country that everything is fine, and still the people complain. It must be the people’s fault.
OH GAWD, NO! Please no!!!
Legislate lower gas prices? This is like trying to extinguish a building fire with gasoline. Sending starving wolves into a burning barn to save the animals.
For the love of GAWD, just knock down the permitting, EPA and lease barriers for 5 years for the oil companies and incentivize increased production. The action alone will drive speculators to start shorting oil futures and drive prices down well ahead of actual supply getting to market.
Free beer tomorrow.
