'Ridiculous': Rand Paul's comments on Russia's invasion of Ukraine blasted as echoing Putin's propaganda

Sen. Rand Paul got flak Tuesday for his comments on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, with some people criticizing him for echoing one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's talking points.

During an exchange with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Paul pointed out that Russia's attacks, in the recent past, have been on countries that were once part of the Soviet Union.

Putin has publicly dismissed Ukraine's right to function as a sovereign nation separate from Russia.

The Kentucky Republican's comments came during a Senate hearing with Blinken, during which Paul raised concerns about U.S. displays of support for Ukraine potentially joining the NATO military alliance, including during former President George W. Bush and President Joe Biden's administrations.

He asked Blinken: "Knowing full well that Ukraine was unlikely to ever join NATO since it had already been 14 years since they said they were going to become members, why was it so important last fall — before this invasion — to continue agitating for Ukraine's admission to NATO?"

Paul is very good with economics. He is a total failure with regard to foreign policy.

Any one who, for any reason, rightly or wrongly, who argues against the NaziUkes is spewing Russian propaganda.

The oryginał colonies were was under direct (not de facto) London rule for 70 years.

Peter the great ruled over his personal Tsardom, spoke French and German.

By your logic, the USA should be part of England again, eh?

“Does that mean the east cost down to Florida should all belong go the UK?”

If the US were adjacent to Britain on her southern border, you’d most likely still be spelling color as “colour” and paying taxes to the Queen.
But - go north, young man. You’ll find a place that you might find interesting.

Congratulations on being the first one on this thread to regurgitate Alex Vindeman’s non sequitur.

“Who’s side will you be on?”

Ah, yes. The Marxist dialectic.

It’s why Leftists always have to be at war with somebody. Leftist governance cannot justify itself to the welfare of the people so the people must always be under attack from some nefarious entity.

Marxist alert!

“Marxist alert!”

Gee, I used to be just a Putinista.

I must be coming up in the world!

Silly neocon.

Don’t even knows how they are perceived, as a joke mostly, by others.

“Paul 2024”

LOL

Good luck with that. Maybe if he runs and fails, he can become a perennial primary loser, just like dear old dad.

Lithuania, LAtvia, Estonia, and much of Poland were occupied by Russia for centuries. Would Moscow Paul hand these over too?
Paul may as well be screaming about the failure to for Poland to surrender territory in October 1939.

Does anyone believe Ukraine is functioning as a sovereign nation now? Ukraine is our puppet. It's being destroyed and Ukrainians are being forced to fight to the last man under direction of Victorian Nuland and Anthony Blinken.

Anyone not part of the Warsaw Pac.. Err Russian-Iranian-Chinese-North Korean alliance is controlled by Washington, to update your communist talking points.

And, the argument is a silly one. Those in Donbass, who have been subjected to war and persecuted by neo-Nazis we train after fomenting a revolution in 2014, have the right to self-determination.
No one in the Donbass has been persecuted by Nazis, unless you mean the National Bolshevik Russians. Russia invaded in 2014. MEanwhile Ukraine elected a Jewish president and prime minister with 70% of the vote in 2019.

This war wouldn't be happening if we hadn't teased NATO membership for Ukraine and if Ukraine had agreed to implement the Minsk Agreement it signed off on in 2015. We could have easily forced them to do all that.
Nope. In the last year, KGB Russia helped its collaborationist regimes in Belarus and Kazakhstand murder pro-decomcracy protestors. Putin diesn't just want to rebuild the USSR, he has openly said that Ukraine doesn't really exist.

No one in the Donbass has been persecuted by Nazis,

You're either lying or totally ignorant what has gone in Donbass for eight years.

There has been war for a reason. We fomented a revolution and installed a new government illegally. An President that was elected democratically was removed from office, one millions in Ukraine voted for. Those areas that disagree with the revolution most certainly had and have a right to independence. And, it shouldn't be surprising they were willing to fight for their independence. That is especially true one takes into a consideration that the new government installed in Kiev after the revolution was hostile toward those of Russian ethnicity.

Ukraine is the center of neo-Nazism in the world. There have been multiple news stories exposing how radical the Azov battalion is in the Western media long before this war began.

And, we funded and trained the Azovs, just like we funded and trained ISIS in Syria. It's a national disgrace.

Israel and Poland both have expressed disgusted and concern that Ukrainian cities have named streets and built monuments and statues to honor Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera.

Ukrainian children are taught to sing songs about Bandera and to hate Russia and those Russian ethnicity. It's a lot like what has been going on for decades in Palestine where young children are taught to hate Israel and Jews.

I've multiple videos of interviews with Ukrainian civilians during this war saying the Azovs have been using civilians as human shields and killing those the tried to escape.

Ukraine has been a divided nation for some time. Ukrainian nationalist have hated those of Russian decent for decades. We stuck our noses in Ukraine, sided with the Ukrainian nationalists, caused an eight-year civil war, used Ukrainian as way of trying to harm Russia and set the stage of this war.

THE BIDEN REGIME AND HIS GLOBALISTS COMRADES WANTED THIS WAR. They thought they would destroy Russia. They want to turn Russia into the same kind of honey hole Ukraine has been for corrupt Western politicians and their rich benefactors, a place that could be raided for easy money. But, just the opposite has happened.

Russia has more of reason to be in Ukraine than we ever did in Iraq.

If Russia or China were aligned with Mexico, arming it with offensive weapons near our borders and funding and operating biolabs with deadly pathogens in them, what do you think we'd do?

What do you think we and/or Australia will do if China tries to install military bases in the Solomon Islands.

You're willful ignorance at all we did to create this war is the kind of thing that will lead to a world war or nuclear war.

The Russians went out of their way to tell us their security concerns in December in hopes a deal could be made to avoid this war. We blew them off.

Our neocon foreign policy has been a disaster since the Iraq war. We stick our noses in nations, cause civil wars, let radical Muslims takeover or destabilize them, causing the deaths of thousands of people.

Neoconism must die.
