I had one stop in the middle of a drive-thru where I couldn’t go around her. I honked my horn and her felon passenger honked back (I could see him do it), got out of the car, and came at me with a gun. I reciprocated. He fled real fast. They caught him. He was just out a of prison a few weeks before that. He’s back in prison for that gun thing.
as a large white man, i look ahead at the sidewalk, and when i make eyecontact with someone of color i change my position to take me on a collision course with them, as many times as needed, until they shuffle in front of me and scream, “What’s wrong with you man?”

there are rules to walking on the sidewalk, to which, it appears, that only white men are privy to.

So, when a white person moves away from a black person, that’s bad. And when a white person doesn’t move away from a black person, that’s bad.

I think what drives a lot of ‘em crazy is they know deep down that White folks aren’t racist and for the most part don’t dislike them and whites don’t spend every waking hour thinking about race.
I’ve worked around a few that see racism in EVERYTHING.
That’s a sad way to go through life, and it’s obviously being taught from generation to generation.
Having said all that, if they wonder why some white folks don’t accept them into their communities......behaviour like this is it.
Just go to Walmart. The people of color do NOT move, even if you are in the aisle on the right side and they are in the middle. I usually just back up and go a different aisle. No sense in starting a melee by asking if you can go by them...however, not all people of color are like that. I get many a smile and curtesy, as I also give them (people of color) close to my own age. The animosity is not there amongst all age groups. We older generations grew up together, got along together, and didn’t think of color as being a hinderance. The younger generations are the hardest to navigate socially, although I get along with my colleagues at work...you’d not think there was ANY color distinction.
They could have filmed passing 5,000 people and then only showed the clips of the people who did not move.
I hate these videos whose sole purpose is to stir up resentment. If blessed are the peacemakers, what are these people?
Since Jesse Jackson is my spiritual advisor, I never had this problem because I follow his advice and always cross the street to avoid black people. :-P
Moving out of someone’s way is just polite, or at least not being a pompass ass about walking down a sidewalk like you own it. There are plenty of rude people out there, and many others who are so into their own little world they are oblivious to others around them.
Courtesy and good manners are kind of dead these days anyway.

Lol, there is a guy near me who deliberately does this. I do the same thing, I just stop walking.
If you have walked the city blocks of Manhattan, you will see thousands of people walking up and down city blocks at a reasonable place. While most of the people are white. There are people from all walks of life and every race. The crowd accepts a pace and those who walk slower or faster cause disharmony just like you would have on a highway with abnormally slow or fast traffic.
Most people learn to walk with the flow. They side step obstructions but most people assume that others will conform. As that is the fastest way for most people to get where they are going. If a person walks inconsistently it will disturb the flow. And may cause people to stop or quickly work around the anomalies.
You can see this pattern at airports and shopping malls or subways, pretty much anywhere that people need to walk through in large numbers. This is not a white people thing as Tokyo, Hong Kong and Shanghai have the same flow, with even larger crowds.

When normal people walk down a busy street approaching each other, the unthinking, habitual response for both is that each will move a little to avoid a collision.
If one person doesn’t move at all, then its natural to feel the other person is purposefully running into you

My grandson, who is now a senior in school, is a good basketball player. He has played with black teams because it’s tougher play.
It’s about all I can do, to watch one white boy play with black teams.. Reason is:
Add 2 black refs and unequal game.
They know my grsndsons name and some crowds.. Parents.. Want him to get in trouble and thrown out. Those black boys play alley ball on the floor... Snd when refs let them do so.. My grandson can handle it better than I can.
Just another ruse to foster division. I suspect this wasn’t thought of by some racist woman in the hood.
