Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in the death of George Floyd, is seeking a new trial.
In an 82-page brief filed Monday, Chauvin's attorney, William Mohrman, argued that it was impossible for his client to get a fair trial in Minneapolis amid the tense climate surrounding the proceedings and the pre-trial publicity.
He said the media coverage of the case "glorified Floyd and demonized Chauvin."

I doubt they're going to move the venue to a different county.

It’s not like he has something better to do.
To: ChicagoConservative27
It is hard to claim he received a fair trial.

They would have to move it to a different country to get a fair trial.

I hope he gets a new trial and that they change the venue to Angle Inlet, Minn. There, in one of the most remote communities in America, you might find an impartial jury.

Agreed. His attorneys would’ve told him to chill.

Asking for blind justice in this day is like wanting to win Powerball with a single ticket. It ain’t happening.

“Death”, not murder. But the gov doesn’t want BLM to riot.
To: ChicagoConservative27
This does make me think. You have a right to a speedy trial. Do you have a right to a delay? Time for insane passions to cool, or time to separate from deliberately orchestrated manipulation of public thought?
In this case, I don’t think they even gave time to figure out that this asshole killed himself.

Officer Chauvin was lynched by the radical leftist segment of the Negro community and their Antifa supporters.
Officer Chauvin was just doing his job trying to restrain a wild drugged up animal, an animal which self destructed on a self-adminstered fatal overdose of fentanyl. George Floyd wasn't Mister Tibbs; he was a low life violent criminal. If Floyd had been behind bars where he belonged, Floyd might yet be alive.

“Death”, not murder. But the gov doesn’t want BLM to riot.It only took 9 posts, for someone to point out the obvious. He won’t get a new trial. They don’t want riots again. Mob justice prevails.

There were many, many aspects of his trial that were biased and corrupt.

Little difference from Jerusalem, 33 A.D. The mob mentality may have been similar, but no one took His life. He laid down his life, voluntarily, as a ransom for many. 😀
I still can’t believe they buried that evil scum bag in a gold coffin. Where that malefactor is now, his gold won’t do him any good. The temperature, will vaporize the gold.

Nevertheless Pilate exposed the weakness of "majority rule".
Interesting outcome for one who shrugged "what is truth?"

Derek Chauvin seeking new trial for George Floyd death He's got a lot of time and he might as well try to get Justice out of the Judicial system.
Doubt it's going to work, because the law is now decided by public consensus and raging mobs.
