Shares of Netflix cratered more than 23% on Tuesday after the company reported a loss of 200,000 subscribers during the first quarter. It’s the first time the streamer has reported a subscriber loss in more than a decade.
The company also said it expects the losses to continue, forecasting a global paid subscriber loss of 2 million for the second quarter.
You don’t need Netflix if you have Prime. And with Prime you have many benefits including unlimited photo storage.
Kick the obamas off your board and don’t go woke.
It’s not rocket science.
nflx truly does suck. I don’t tune in at all anymore as there’s nothing but garbage on there.
They raised prices. Nuts when the number of competitors are exploding.
” He’d better hope they don’t ask him to take a salary hike,”
I would think he would be very happy with a salary hike?
I get a free account through t-mobile and I STILL don’t watch it. Not much of a movie fan. I find most boring and it’s hard for me to sit still.
Grab from the suckers and run as fast as you can is the new business credo.
That’s not going to last much longer. They are cracking down on the “friends and family” nature of Netflix.
I don’t do Netflix but know some people who had it for a while, but gave it up. They said they saw what they wanted and it just wasn’t worth it to them.
I'm Gen Z, but I simply can't keep up with corporate entertainment offerings. So much is post-modern, woke garbage, its not worth the vast amount of time needed to sift through to find some the rare gems. That alone is full time job.
I tried to use netflix to watch. “The last hangover” since it is a easter movie, but they dont have it anymore.
I canceled my Netflix subscription last year after I realized that all I ever watched on Netflix was occasional old episodes of Star Trek (original series). Their original programming is almost entirely unwatchable garbage - I did see a few episodes of Luke Cage and it had some potential, but they promptly canceled it.
“The company said that the suspension of its service in Russia and the winding-down of all Russian paid memberships resulted in a loss of 700,000 subscribers. Excluding that impact, the company said it would have seen 500,000 net additions during the most recent quarter.”
I think this is the most likely reason, Netflix is a luxury, feeding your family, heating your home, etc.. are necessities.
I think Netflix will end up being just one of many companies to suffer if inflation keeps spiraling out of control.
People will eliminate luxuries.
I do stream stuff, but have not had Netflix for years. Last time I had it I canceled because I simply wasn’t watching anything on it. They didn’t have much in the way of classic movies. Why are people canceling now? Price hikes?
Was that a pun?
There are probably about 1,500 movies worth watching anyway. They don’t normally show them on modern services.
Every company that has identified as “woke” over the past few years is going to experience this. Americans have had it with corporate virtue-signaling.
Note to the House of Windsor: Incoming!!!!
Very true. 👍
