If they don’t like it they can move. That land is worth a pretty good buck.

Yes Guv, I am 100% behind you on this. The last thing that Florida needs is to become a Calif2. If Disney wants to normalize sexual dysphoria then Disney should not only be deprived tax advantages but also should consider moving their operations to a state that is friendlier to these abnormal beliefs.

True. But if Disney said they were going to move to another state every republican governor in the country would be trying to woo them.

Cha-ching! Money trumps everything.

Does it bother anyone here that the government is trying to punish a private company because of their political speech?

A day pass is over $110.00?

So for a family of 5 to go to an amusement park is now $550.00? And this does not include parking, food, drinks, souvenirs etc?

So what you're saying it's going to cost a family of 5 about $1000.00 to spend one day at an amusement park?

LOL!

Not really. Disney isn’t really a private company when taxpayers are subsidizing its existence enormously. Florida citizens should have a say on the subject.

Cheaper than going skiing in Vermont https://www.killington.com/plan-your-trip/tickets-passes/lift-tickets#window-rates

That probably explains why I have not been there in decades.
Obnoxious tourist, crowded, long lines and sky high prices?

Not for me!☺

In the year 2021, the Walt Disney Company generated a total revenue of nearly 17 billion U.S. dollars with its parks, experiences and products segment, a decrease of around 10 billion from the year before.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/193140/revenue-of-the-walt-disney-company-by-operating-segment/

Disney’s theme parks in Anaheim and Florida hit record revenue and operating income levels in the first quarter of 2022 that ran from Oct. 3, 2021 through Jan. 1, 2022, according to the company’s earnings call on Wednesday, Feb. 9.

Disney Parks, Experiences and Products revenue doubled to $7.2 billion in the first quarter of 2022 compared to $3.6 billion during the same period in 2021.

Unless Biden buys his illegal criminals annual passes, it’s downhill from here, for Disney. Their perverted wokeness will not only hurt the parks attendance, but also their much larger media divisions.

If we're going to nationalize (stateize?) every company that gets some kind of tax allowance we might as well go full communist right now.

That ticket only gets you in to one part of the park. It’s about double to gain entrance to all of Disney World, not to mention all of the extras (food, travel, hotel, souvenirs).

True. But if Disney said they were going to move to another state every republican governor in the country would be trying to woo them.

That would be next impossible for Disney to do. When Walt bought the land in Florida, he had to do so under false company names and via cutouts to avoid running up the price. The instant Disney said they were moving, two things would happen - #1 immense speculation in areas Disney was looking at #2 protests to prevent Disney moving into the area (see Northern Virginia when it was still rural b/c of the "impact on traffic" etc).

Four out of five of the most visited theme parks in the US are Disney parks in Orlando (1,3,4,5 -#2 is Disneyland in California). Disney World Florida parks are 1, 6, 7, 8 most visited in the WORLD.

Magic Kingdom Florida by itself has almost as many visitors as Chimelong Ocean Kingdom China and Shanghai Disneyland in Shanghai, China combined....and China has over a billion people and is relatively cheap to travel to for the rest of Asia.

Disney World is the largest theme park resort in the world, and makes about $20 MILLION per DAY, nets about $17B per year.

In short - DW could threaten to leave Florida all the want to......it isn't going to happen.

I like that Desantis fights back, but I think we have to be careful about targeting people or corporations for their political beliefs. That is what the crooks on the left do.
