A California city is planning to give universal basic income (UBI) to transgender and nonbinary residents regardless of their earnings level.
Transgender residents in Palm Springs, California are eligible to receive a UBI of up to $900 per month solely for identifying as transgender or nonbinary — no strings attached.
The new pilot program will have $200,000 set aside for allocation after a unanimous vote by the Palm Springs City Council last week.

Well, we know from liberals that gender, sexuality, etc is fluid and can change daily.
If this survives court challenges and the money is going to given away anyway, then seems like an opportunity for any resident to cash in. If someone challenges a persons sexuality when they apply, just threaten to refer them to the cops for a hate crime.
If every single person in that city doesn’t declare themselves non binary they are idiots. I would consider it a return of stolen property and cash checks until the $200,000 ran out. Which will be in about 2 months tops.
$200,000 is enough to fund 18.5 QWERTY’s for one year at the rate of $900/month ...

Oliver Twist asked the Palm Springs City Council for more gruel, but they said no due him being a cisgender guy, so he starved to death.
Thank you for mentioning that. Taxpayers probably aren't happy about that either.
And is too bad that desperate Democratic state and federal governments predictably won't lift a finger to guarantee taxpayers their constitutionally guaranteed republican form of government.
Then after they've received their 30 pieces of silver ($900) for a couple of months wait until all manner of garbage is passed. With the masses firmly addicted to their $900/mo for going along with the farce, they'll be reluctant to vote against everything else for fear of losing their grift.
A couple of years ago Palm Springs was touted as the first city to have an all-’gay’ city council & mayor, so this should be no surprise.
Every straight person should file an equal protection and then file a claim for damages of civil rights violations under federal law.
Palm Springs used to be one of the most conservative areas in California until about 20 years ago.
