I’ve been stocking up against the wishes of my wife, so I didn’t get all the things I should have, but I got enough to see us through a year or two.
She is still in denial. I know when we start eating the stuff she is going to complain that I didn’t get the right stuff, but my goal is to keep body and soul together as long as possible.
The way I see it, if the worse doesn’t happen and we are stuck with all this dry food, there will always be food pantries that will accept it. Dry rice and beans will last about 30 years I’ve read... whole rice less as the germ will rot eventually.
“She is still in denial”.
How is that even possible at this late date, is something I’ve pondered. The last 20 years - say, 9/11/2001 being an arbitrary starting date - ever increasing $hitshow on Acid should be a wake up call to any reasonably observant person.
Ask her what the right stuff is, and get it while the getting is good.
going to complain that I didn’t get the right stuff,
You are at least fortunate to be able to hide and set aside food. My wife keeps moving stash to donate to a food bank, because “I’m not going to eat that.”
She is a cloth mask wearing Karen, and is liberal thick.
