Outrage Over Madison Cawthorn Is A Distraction, And Republicans Are Taking The Bait
The Federalist ^ | MARCH 31, 2022 | TRISTAN JUSTICE

Posted on 03/31/2022 6:49:18 PM PDT by conservative98

North Carolina Republican Rep. Madison Cawthorn is capturing flak from his own party this week after claiming Washington D.C. is a sexually obsessed swamp run on cocaine.

[CUT]

The controversial comments set off members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and provoked a meeting between the congressional newcomer and Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, who is weighing further action.

“There’s a lot of different things that can happen,” McCarthy told Axios Wednesday. “I just told him he’s lost my trust, he’s gonna have to earn it back, and I laid out everything I find is unbecoming. And, you can’t just say ‘You can’t do this again.’ I mean, he’s, he’s got a lot of members very upset.”

The scandal, however, is nothing more than a distraction from Democrats presiding over an increasingly depressed nation coping with severe economic uncertainty with excess sugar, alcohol, and opioids. Meanwhile, as Republicans prepare to discipline Cawthorn, Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell continues to serve on the House Intelligence Committee with access to the nation’s top secrets despite a relationship likely turned romantic with a suspected Chinese spy.

Is there anybody who doubt what this guy is talking about is the reality in DC? We live in a depraved times, and many of our elected officials are champions of depravity.

I just told him he’s lost my trust
!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

McCarthy lost my trust when he joined the leadership team of Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, Cheney who hobbled Trump through the first two years and then threw the House to the Democrats on purpose.

ALL Bush Leaguers need to go.

Cawthorn is a Rino distractor.

He claims these things yet provides no details.

He wrote a letter to Joe Biden congratulating Biden on his presidency and administration, that he hopes to work with Biden and how “the partisan divide between Democrats and Republicans does not serve a single American”.

This is all one needs to know about him.

(And, no one is saying DC is not filled with drug use and sexual perversions. Everyone already knows that).

McCarthy Is a tool. Allowing MTG to be removed and keeping Liz Cheney in the caucus is all I need to know about him. He needs to go back under the rock he crawled out of.

Cawthorne is probably honest. But what is the intended message? Not like it’ll change anything.

It was a podcast. They all could have ignored it. McCarthy and the RINOS are freaking out over a podcast. Probably because they have something to hide.

"“I just told him he’s lost my trust, he’s gonna have to earn it back,..."

I thought the trust came from the electorate in his district. Who does McCarthy think he is? Pelosi?

Kevin McCarthy is swine at the trough and may likely be guilty of what the freshman congressman has alleged. McCarthy would be better served to take this seriously and properly investigate. That would be too difficult, as he might offend the uniparty status quo.

“Not like it’ll change anything.”

We still don’t know who used, and was involved with, the slush fund for paying off sexual peccadilloes. How many years has it been since we first learned of it.

That’s one way to look at it. Here is another.

First, he didn’t write the letter, 17 Freshmen Republicans did.

Biden said he was going to reach across the aisle and work with his opponents.

Cawthorn along with 16 other Freshmen Republicans took the imitative to take Biden up on his offer.

Biden didn’t want to work with any Republican or wasn’t cognitively able to work with anyone and he just does what his staffers tell him to do.

That’s not Cawthorn’s fault.

I know you dislike Cawthorn but you need to rethink this.

The people calling him out right now, McCarthy and Tillis, are bad people.
