BRUSSELS/BERLIN, March 25 (Reuters) - The United States will work to supply 15 billion cubic metres of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the European Union this year to help it wean off Russian energy supplies, the transatlantic partners said on Friday.

The EU is aiming to cut its dependency on Russian gas by two-thirds this year and end all Russian fossil fuel imports by 2027 due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Russia supplies around 40% of Europe's gas needs.

Concerns over security of supply were reinforced this week after Russia ordered the switch of gas contract payments to roubles, raising the risk of a supply squeeze and even higher prices. read more

Senior U.S. administration officials did not specify what amount or percentage of the extra LNG supply would come from the United States.

U.S. LNG plants are producing at full capacity and analysts say most of any additional U.S. gas sent to Europe would have to come from exports that would have gone elsewhere.

gosh, shouldn’t we....y’know.....drill/frack more of our own oil and gas so as to be able to supply the Europeans?

Anybody who is against drilling and fracking our own oil and gas and mining our own coal is a stooge of Putin!

Let the Leftist Gaia Worshippers have fun with that one. :^)

Meanwhile, the American “unwashed masses” sit with super high energy prices, rapid inflation, etc. while this crooked, demonic administration does everything it can to support WEF and the NWO.
May a curse and a pox fall upon em...

""It normally takes two to three years to build a new production facility, so this deal may be more about the re-direction of existing supplies than new capacity," said Alex Froley, gas and LNG analyst at ICIS."

If this is coming out of current US supply, when the Biden regime is limiting leases, is this subsidising Europe's virtue signaling on the backs of Amercans in thr form of even higher energy prices? Inquiring minds want to know...

Basic supply and demand: if we eliminate Russian supply without increasing American supply, the increased world price of gas will eventually work it’s way around to American consumers.

The Ukraine and the Democrat/EU agenda for that country are not worth the econonomic pain.

Let me guess: the press (see Tagline) will hail this as a wonderful Biden achievement without a single word that they poo-pooed it when President Trump tried to convince Europe to be less dependent on Russia.

This most certainly will raise the price of natural gas for Americans. Europe can build more nuclear reactors if it needs energy. Let us use our own oil, natural gas, and coal and keep our prices low. I’m not interested in sharing any of it with Europe or anyone else.

And, if more Americans buy electric cars, we’re going to be needing a lot more energy to run them. Where’s that supposed to come from? I’m not driving anything with solar panels on the roof.

So much for the climate change wackos. Reality is a severe taskmistress, ain’t it?
