(Blockade of Cuba by USA was OK by neocons, but Russia must tolerate NATO weapons on its border!)

Where exactly are NATO’s nuclear weapons positioned 90 miles from Russia?

“Whataboutism” is an old soviet trick to justify their deliberate mass murder.

I'm only pointing out the double standard.

Then Putin should have demanded a meeting with NATO not invade Ukraine and kill a bunch of innocent people who don’t even know what NATO is.

He has warned NATO.

The US had been conducting military exercises last year, with strategic bombers being flown 20 KM from the Russian border. (Look it up.) Putin pointed out (quite correctly), that this represented a threat to Russia.

But because America as a country doesn't read, nobody knows this and a media with an agenda is able to portray a different story.

(Crucial to that story, of course, is that America must ALWAYS be perceived as the innocent underdog.)

I’m sure that Ukrainians fully support the efforts of their Russian liberators.

There is an explanation, if you are willing to listen. There is a significant portion of the population that has no problem with Putin taking control. They have had a truly corrupt government for over twenty years and see Putin as the devil they understand. His level of corruption is far less than the previous Ukrainian government.

There are plenty of patriotic Ukrainians who will fight to the death against the Russians, but they are now locked down in the cities and have little hope. They can either surrender or be on the receiving end of Soviet style carpet bombing by artillery, the favorite tactic of Russian generals and despots.

Do I support or even like Putin? No, he is a psychotic madman who had no need for the invasion. His generals lied to him and are beginning to suffer their just desserts for those lies. His worldview is corrupt and his morals stink. But he has enough fire power to win, and will.

Oh yes, the name-calling.

(AKA, I am unable to respond to facts so I am left with resorting to emotion.)

Have a good evening.

I have debated with a majority of these people on these same topics, countless times.

But they will continue to cling to even the most illogical bullshit because they are not operating in “good faith.” They are a hodge podge of Q-tards and Putinists, utterly debased and lost to all rational discourse.

We can only pity them as these trolls strut and fret their way across the stage until they meet their bitter, stupid end.

“And you would have said the same, no doubt, if we went into Cuba to take out the Soviet missiles - we had NO RIGHT. End of story.”

If you are going to equate 1962 Cuba with 2022 Ukraine you need to get your facts straight.

In 1962 the Soviet Union was already installing OFFENSIVE NUCLEAR MISSILES in Cuba, 90 miles away from the US. In 2022 there were NO offensive nuclear missiles in Ukraine, being installed by Ukraine or anyone else.

You heard it here first: only Russia is allowed to perform yearly military exercises, otherwise it's a threat to the shithole that is Russia.

There's nothing really to respond to. You were just justifying one mass murder by accusing the West of mass murder in Iraq.

Last year, the US was flying strategic bombers much closer to Russia than 90 miles.

(But that's okay. As long as that isn't on my TV screen I don't know that, and as long as they only put on my TV screen those incidents of Russian planes flying near us, I can believe that we never present a threat to Russia; it's only Russia that presents a threat to us.)

Yes, and waiting that long nearly caused WW3. In this case it was a THREAT to obtain or develop nuclear weapons, and it will likely end long before we get to the standoff of 1962.

Is Russia flying strategic bombers within 20 KM of the US?

(We'd be the first country to snivel about it.)

“There has also been zero reason to push NATO closer to Russia, but that hasn’t stopped NATO from doing it.”

Then why didn’t Russia invade Poland? It is a former Soviet satellite state and borders Russia at Kaliningrad. Why didn’t Russia invade Lithuania? It is also a former Soviet satellite state that borders Russia at Kaliningrad. Why didn’t Russia invade Latvia or Estonia? Both are former Soviet Satellite states that border Russia. MATO has nothing to do with Putin’s invasion, nor does his ridiculous comment that he wanted to “de-Nazify Ukraine.” This, from perhaps the biggest fascist on the planet? Yes, Putin is a fascist, not a communist.

Most here don’t understand that, they blindly cheer on Ukraine because the media tells them to. They have no real clear understanding of what is actually happening either. War is hell, I wish this never happened, but Russia was goaded into this and a blind man could of seen it coming.

Warning NATO is not the same as meeting with NATO. Besides Putin should know that gaining membership requires unanimous agreement and that would not happen. I’m sick of that excuse. That’s all it is, an excuse. NATO is a defensive group, as long as Putin didn’t invade no problem.

And don’t be naive p, Russia frequently flies all kinds of planes extremely close to US airspace. So, unless you are claiming Putin has the courage of a hysterical 12 year old he should know that Ukraine borders are no different from Alaska and California borders. As a matter of fact there were also reports of them flying very very close to the east coast as well. You didn’t see us all pearl clutching and invading Russia.
