For you younger folks, that is reference to both the coup that removed Khrushchev in 1964 and the attempted 1991 coup against Gorbachev, both times the leaders “went on vacation” to their summer homes (in reality both were put under house arrest by the coup plotters). Where they were then pretty much forced a gunpoint to “resign”, except in Gorbachev’s case the public figured out what was going on and crushed the coup. Perhaps the coup plotters shouldn’t have tried the exact same method they used on Khrushchev twice....
