Greenwald: The Same Neocons That Pushed Iraq War Are Now Doing It On Behalf Of Democrats And They Are Being Cheered
RCP ^ | 03/17/2022 | Glenn Greenwald

Posted on 03/18/2022 1:50:22 AM PDT by Az Joe

Investigative journalist Glenn Greenwald said the same people who pushed the U.S. into war with Iraq and Afghanistan for Republicans are now back to do the same for the Democrats with a war against Russia. Greenwald told FOX News' Laura Ingraham on Thursday that people should be cautious when the two parties are in lockstep when it comes to war because that means there was very little debate and people were coerced. Greenwald also said Russiagate and the hatred and distrust for Russia that was created is one of the reasons why the Russia-Ukraine conflict could not be solved diplomatically. "This is journalism in 2022," Greenwald said. "There are no standards, there are no ethics. A lot of their readers who they write for want them to lie to them or about their enemies as long as it advances the cause." "I think the more interesting question is the fact that you pointed out to, there is very little debate over something this cataclysmic potentially in the U.S. Congress," he said. "I haven't seen the two parties united in lockstep to this extent since the days after 9/11. I think that lockstep unity produced a lot of bad outcomes. It's generally a bad thing."

And we know Medvedev will take for sure ?? Isn’t he the same guy who said in the last couple of days that Russia would teach the USA a lesson, maybe it was just an idle threat

Love Glenn but he also has an agenda speaking out against media propaganda and the neocons are a bit of an easy target from that perspective. Americans were not directly targeted in this case and those select group of officials certainly don’t have the influence that they did after 9/11.

You have to stoke the fire sometimes to flush the Neocons out so we can identify them, they qualify for the classic definition of insanity by repeating the same actions over and over again with the same results

The IC isn’t designed to collect intelligence. It’s designed to disseminate propaganda and fake news around the world in support of a globalist agenda.

The only thing that’s changed in recent years is that we now know for certain how extensive these IC operations have been here in the U.S. all this time.

Young adults from patriotic, conservative, families will become canon fodder while the 24/7 cable newsies stupidly ask parents of the dead soldiers, "Tell us, how do you feel"?

It’s time for that sentiment to be put to rest … because it’s long past time for “young adults from patriotic, conservative families” to stop signing up as mercenaries for globalist tools who despise them and their patriotism.

but something is horribly wrong with all of this

Yes, there is something horribly wrong. Nothing is to be believed at this point. Putin is crazy, demented etc. Neo-Nazi's, etc. It begets a few questions: What exactly was the US doing in Ukraine? Why is the Ukraine an important area for US interests? What exactly is the US interest? What exactly is the desired results? Nobody seems to be asking these basic questions nor are any concise answers forthcoming. If the basic answer is Putin, then that's not good enough. That is a domestic problem for the Russian people to deal with. And while Putin is not a nice guy, replace Putin with who exactly? What is the precise goal of the "regime change" in Russia. At the end of all of this, what is the vision for the world at that time? World peace is not a sufficient answer because that is chasing unicorns. Without more concrete answers and a clear vision of the goals we are headed into a never ending war that eventually devolves into nuclear exchanges as the ground forces/military assets get chewed up.

Bullying Communism in the defense of liberty is no vice. Supporting Biden’s Pentagon is no virtue.

BTW: China will watch how nuclear threats work regarding Taiwan’s defense.

I’m advocating treating Poland’s airworthy MiGs as expendable.

30 Polish MiGs, sent one at a time, can create havoc. (”Havoc”, the name of one of America’s most effective WWII medium bombers, BTW).

Ukraine pilots would get audible electronic warnings in time to avoid (or bail out) from missile assault. With any luck, the Ukraine pilot can be returned to service.

The MiG would be replaced to Poland by F-16s or better.

That’s assuming Ukraine has enough qualified pilots to put the additional Migs to use.

That’s assuming they have the spare parts to keep the aging plane flying.

That’s assuming they have the fuel necessary to keep them flying.

That’s assuming they can evade the Russian Air Defenses.

Did you wonder why Russia has not pummeled Ukraine into submission with their Air Force and why Ukraine has done more damage with their Air Force ??

We had one report after another of the 40-mile long Russian Convoy outside of Kiev, what hasn’t Ukraine attacked it repeatedly ??

Neither side is attacking relentlessly because the Air Defenses on both sides are sufficient enough to discourage a major air campaign.

Ukraine has pilots standing by in Polsnd

These MiGs, and possibly the MiGs (and/or Su-25s) of Slovakia, Hungary, and Bulgaria could be better used against the Russian bombing assaults against Ukraine’s residential structures.

I’m less comfortable with Biden’s Pentagon...

Or, at Townhall.com, “After Afghanistan and calls with Biden whose transcript I’m sure reads like applesauce, we have other nations taking some matters in their own hands. It’s what happens when everyone sees a confused, frail, weak, and stupid president. We’re rudderless. No wonder why there’s a trust deficit emerging.”
