More than 500 Google workers have rallied behind a colleague who alleges she is being pushed out of her job because of her activism within the company .... workers have signed a petition accusing Google leadership of “unjustly retaliating” against Ariel Koren, a product marketing manager at Google for Education, for voicing criticism of Project Nimbus, a 1.2-billion contract Google and Amazon Web Services entered into with the Israeli military and government.
*** Koren feels she has faced added scrutiny since last spring. In May she called on Google to express solidarity with Palestinians in the wake of an assault on Gaza by Israel that killed more than 250 people. In October, she led efforts to draft a letter among Google and Amazon workers that criticized Project Nimbus, a multi-year plan to open data centers in Israel and provide infrastructure for a full suite of cloud services to the government and military. The letter said the program would facilitate surveillance of Palestinians and the expansion of Israeli settlements, considered illegal under international law. The letter, which has amassed hundreds of employee signatures, urged Google to cut ties with the Israeli military. Koren was one of two Google employees who spoke to media outlets publicly about the push.
*** Google denies Koren’s allegation of retaliation.
“We thoroughly investigated this employee’s claims and found there was no retaliation,” Google spokesperson Shannon Newberry said in a statement.
*** Google workers have protested military contracts in recent years, challenging Google’s work with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and its role in a defense program building artificial intelligence tools used to refine drone strikes. The results of that activism have not seemed to sway Google, which has continued to collect lucrative defense contracts, and employees who challenged the company say they continue to face problems.

Tell her she’s free to work elsewhere along with the rest of the activists.
But Google brought this upon themselves.
In the real world, you're asked to leave after causing harm to your companies brand which can be quantified into real $$. If you're no longer an asset and have become a liability of your own choosing, it's time for you to be dismissed.
What's so complicated about that?
Sell her in the Mauritian slave market.
It’s never a good idea to publicly say or do things that embarass your current employer. They don’t owe you a job.
A corporation is not a government entity. They are not bound to abide by the same rules of equity. This is the case even if you present a very good case.
Ask ex NBC employee Megyn Kelly how that worked out for her, but keep in mind, not every rebellious employee gets a $26 Million Dollar contractual payout like she did. Meg is the exception because she was ‘Hot’ and a trained lawyer to boot.
Ariel Koren, a product marketing manager at Google for Education,“
I can just imagine the BS this bunch is pushing on the kids.
They didn’t hire her to be an activist. That stuff is done on your own time.

In case anyone else is wondering about the Brazil angle of the headline:
“In early November, Koren said she logged into a video conference call for what she expected to be a routine weekly check-in with her manager. Instead, she said, her boss presented her with an ultimatum: move to Brazil or lose her position.
In the meeting, Koren said the manager told her the team’s Brazil business had been growing, her role was being relocated to Sao Paulo, and she had 17 business days to commit to the move.”
For once, from my perspective Google’s stock has been raised. She is lucky they would give her a job in Brazil. As a matter of fact, in today’s world relocating to Brazil might not be a bad move.
“More than 500 Google workers have rallied behind a colleague”
I wonder how many people are waiting in line for those jobs, going “Please, please quit in protest!”.
I call BS. It’s smoke and mirrors to make Israel and the rest of us think that Google will honor its contract with Israel and actually do something constructive for Israel instead of figuring out ways to undermine Israel like the good uber-woke corporation it is.
I work at a data center company who hosts the world’s biggest names for their varied services.
My employer would not be pleased with me using their time to push a political agenda. In fact, I dare not even speak their name in public like on this forum for fear of being cancelled over free speech and opinion.
Dangerous Times, FRiends.
Yes, wasn’t it them who fired the dude who responded to their questions about “equal pay” crappola? If you do that, you encourage the wokies.
Move to Brazil?
I’d think Argentina would be more appropriate; more Nazis there.
And even that should not involve dissing your own company publicly.
“Activism” what a fancy word standing on the wrong side. Thanks a lot SOROS.
TFB.
I’m no supporter of Google, but I would fire on the spot every one of them who supported he “activism”. No second thoughts.
Name sounds like a self-hating Jew. As bad as any Nazi.
Anti-American Google is quite happy getting rich via crony capitalism. That doesn’t stop them from continuing their work for a one-world government.
These Left loons will be very shocked by their predicaments in just a few years, if they live that long. They are brainwashed morons.
