Israel can play an important role in mediation between Ukraine and Russia, Advisor to Ukraine’s defense minister Markiyan Lubkivskyi said on Friday. “Thank you so much Israel for your support,” Lubkivskyi said. “I think that your country can play a crucial role in this story. And I think that you can be a mediator to stop Putin. This is a message [Kyiv] wants to send to you.” Soon after Lubkivskyi spoke to The Jerusalem Post, Walla News reported that Bennett is pressuring Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to accept Russian President Vladimir Putin’s demands to end the war and that Kyiv is upset with Israel’s stance.…. When it comes to the specifics of Putin’s demands on Ukraine, which are reported to include giving up on the Donbas, neutrality between Russia and the West, and semi-demilitarization, Lubkivskyi said he thinks that it is “too early to discuss.” “We need to be patient,” he stated. “We need to protect people at this stage. Sanctions are doing their job. Every day Russia is becoming weaker and weaker…We need to see how sanctions are progressing, and we need to decide everything based on the realistic picture….”

Hard to see why they’d be doing that if they’re letting Israel into Syrian airspace to take out those same terrorists. The terrorists that Israel is interested in are supported by Iran.

The Russians can lose 1000 skirmishes and still achieve victory. As to the effect of sanctions, Russia is not deterred.
The Russian goal remains to bring a few border regions into the Russian hegemony. They have already achieved that. They will be happy to stop the war in exchange for what they have already achieved.
This is a win win for Putin. Trump understood his game. Biden is a witless fool who would prefer to destroy the earth than admit his stupidity.

It seems that Putin is lowering his terms for ending the war. From asking for unconditional surrender to now - more-less returning to the status quo before the war.
Sign that Ukraine is winning. Why should Ukraine accept Russian terms?
After getting the country destroyed and many citizens killed, they earned the rights to dictate their terms for Russian surrender!
Must also mention Trump held Putin in check, putting the price tag of incursion too steep for Putin to wager.
Biden has been completely two faced, financially supporting Russia while claiming to sanction Vlad. Now he wants to buy oil from Venezuela knowing full well 90% of V oil production is courtesy of Russia.

My point being that the same media telling Zelensky to fight on and risk a world war is telling Israel to basically surrender and be exterminated by the Palestinians. That’s why I stay suspicious of media motives.

A cease fire sooner than later would be favorable. The longer the war drags on, yes this means Putin's regime becomes vulnerable. Tsar's army revolted against him at the end of WWI. We could see the same when the Russian conscripts discover that Putin and his oligarchs have enriched themselves at their expense. They're nothing more than cannon fodder in the battlefields of Ukraine.

I don’t think he’s said that they need to go back to Russia, but yes, probably worth discussing with him (rather than treating him like crap and ignoring him) if we want do want those countries to remain independent.

from the EU countries and the U.S.

However they supoortee Assad in the Syrian civil war who opposed ISIS

That’s why the idea is to talk BEFORE the bombing begins. He’s now losing soldiers, he’s going to take what he was willing to negotiate on and possibly more, in Ukraine.

Yep, could be, but maybe not. I think the best way to predict will be to see what he does with Ukraine, should he take it all. If he sticks by his limited demands, which means Ukraine becomes like Finland during the Cold War (neutral militarily, but otherwise a free and prosperous country), then there’s likely room to work things out, if he keeps it all and tries to make it just another Russian republic, then that bodes bad.
Personally, I think he’ll abide by his original, limited, demands as I really doubt he wants anything to do with a culture that despises him. But it will be his call.
