Drug overdoses in Colorado are seemingly spiking just a few years after the state’s elected Democrats decriminalized the possession of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and meth.
This week, five Americans — three women and two men — were found dead inside a Commerce City, Colorado, apartment after having overdosed on fentanyl.
In 2019, Democrats in the state legislature decriminalized possession of deadly drugs like fentanyl — making possession of four milligrams of fentanyl a misdemeanor rather than a felony.
The United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) notes that two milligrams of fentanyl can be deadly while one kilogram of fentanyl can kill half a million people. About a million milligrams are in one kilogram.
Democrat state Rep. Yadira Caraveo, now running for Congress in Colorado’s 8th congressional district, helped decriminalize fentanyl across the state. Denver, Colorado, Police Chief Paul Pazen has said that “the effect is people are dying” as a result of the law.
Republican Tyler Allcorn, a former Army Special Forces Green Beret running against Caraveo, blasted her.
“Joe Biden’s failures at the southern border have brought us to this point and the Democrats here in Colorado — including my likely opponent Yadira Caraveo — passed laws that have made this problem worse and are killing people, Allcorn said. "Almost two Coloradans a day are dying from fentanyl overdoses and our state has become a war zone. It’s time for these Democrats to own up to what they’ve done and change the laws back to the way they were in 2019. Yadira Caraveo needs to break her silence on this issue and she also needs to tell Coloradans how she will secure our southern border."
From September 2020 to September 2021, the state saw 1,825 residents die from drug overdoses.

Across the U.S., drug overdose deaths have skyrocketed in recent years. From April 2020 to April 2021, for example, more than 100,000 Americans died from overdoses. Deaths from overdoses now outpace the number of Americans killed from car crashes and guns, combined.
This will sound bad, but at least we are no longer paying for them. No real loss to society. I do feel sorry for their families losing a child.
Darwin’s theory proven correct again.
They have included this in their plan
I almost lost my daughter during a drug fueled shooting. All i can say is.. the deliberate evil voices are hard to overcome.
Rebellion is now deadly. If she had died due to someones darwin effect i would say.. everyone deserves grace and nercy for bad choices. Good can come from it, if.. they turn away.
To those who have never made bad choices who refuse to offer help. Are you really the merciless people we want to emulate, much less listen to.
Decriminalize fentanyl????
WHAT?
“...just a few years after the state’s elected Democrats decriminalized the possession of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and meth”.
Whew!
That takes the heat off Colorado’s legalized Marijuana!
The Dimocrats keep this up they won’t have any live voters. ‘course the dead will still vote for them.
Wonder who funded the bill that decriminalized these drugs.
Somebody (or group) had to be greasing the skids for this to go through.
If the demand kills itself off... there will always be demand. Everytime some youthful idiot kills themselves off, other youthful idiot’s take notice. Maybe the deaths will start leveling off. After the attrition rates initial rise.
Colorado has seven borders. Kinda meaningless to secure just one.
What a stupid thing to do
I didn’t read the full article.. but changing something from a felony to a misdemeanor does not equate to decriminalizing.
Colorado Drug Overdoses Spike After Democrats Decriminalize Fentanyl

Gee. Never saw that one coming. Who’d have thunk it.
Didn’t see that coming!
>>more than 100,000 Americans died from overdoses<<
The war on drugs is a sham! Our government is stealing our tax dollars to place in secret slush funds around the world.
There is only the illusion of a war on drugs. If American politicians were truly serious regarding the drug war, they’d shut that border down tighter than a drum.
Hundreds of billions of hard earned American tax $$$ have evaporated over a couple of decades and the drug problem has just gotten worse.
NO ONE QUESTIONS IT!
If said misdemeanor is just a ticket with a fine, then for all intents and purposes you have decriminalized something. Basically, said misdemeanor just means you pay the state to allow you to do whatever you were doing.
The democrats and their narcotics.. Keep them drugged, and keep them stupid.. That's the plan..
“About a million milligrams are in one kilogram.”
Mr. Binder is a math expert.
