Talking about Stalin, that’s how he dealt with his own military, gutted the officer corps just enough to give Hitler a chance; lucky for him, Hitler was a horrible “general” himself, unlike the Ukrainian officer corps. (That’s “core”, Barry, not “corpse.”)

The Soviets shot thousands of field grade officers in WW2, and many upper level Generals, thousands simply disappeared. The world has no regard for history and plays shocked at the Russian army’s playbook…..good/ bad Ivan, get over it, they get results. Not an endorsement of either side, both the Ukies and Ivan are rotten and corrupted.
I was in Moscow during the Chechnian conflict, they played hard ball against the Islamic republic, won, and now those Islamists are fighting in Ukraine….think about that. If you put your western thinking cap on you will never understand.
