They will appeal the sentencing. But the 6 months in county jail starts today.
The judge was very very detailed in listing everything he considered in developing the sentencing. He laid out the aggravating factors and why he didn’t give probation. I doubt they make much progress on appeal.

He should pay back all the money for the investigation. When he gets out there will be plenty of work for him. That’s how it works.

The judge said he took those into consideration and gave them great weight. Sounds like he might have gotten even more time if they hasn't written letters on his behalf.

In my opinion - Jussie Smollett should’ve gotten at least 10 years in prison.
