The national average for gasoline prices has jumped to $4.07 per gallon Monday, according to AAA.
Under President Biden, Americans have seen a jump of more than $1.30 compared to last year, according to the national motor club.
The average is just pennies away from the all-time high set in 2008 when the price was at $4.11 per gallon.
Experts warn that prices are not going to slow down anytime soon amid the skyrocketing inflation and energy crisis already growing under the Biden administration.
“As Russia’s war on Ukraine continues to evolve and we head into a season where gas prices typically increase, Americans should prepare to pay more for gas than they ever have before,” Patrick De Haan, GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis, said in a statement.
California currently has the highest average at $5.43.
Former President Trump warned about gas prices going up to as high as $9.00 per gallon during the 2020 presidential campaign.

About an hour ago, I filled my vehicle again after a 5 short
trips yesterday. . .totaling almost 40 bucks. I pulled in at the station $4.19 a gallon and I noticed the sign had changed to $4.29 when I left . . .since I didn’t get a receipt I don’t know what I paid a gallon. This is criminal.
