You would think the Russians would want to capture the power plant intact so they could use it.
Right now, only objective Russian military could have is to cut off electric power to large swaths of Ukraine. That makes it more difficult to resist the invaders.

Exactly.
I suspect they’d bomb the generators to knock the power off the grid, and not the reactor buildings itself.
Once in control, they could repair the generators to serve their needs.
It’s 33 F in Kiev right now.. turn off the power and heat and the situation gets a lot worse fast...
Who is hurting more? Russia or NATO countries?
