It could be bad if the control center got damaged. I doubt there are of the newest fail-safe, meltdown-proof design.

The Chernobyl plant did not have a containment building like US and European reactors do. If this plant they are talking about is Soviet-era, there may be trouble.
There’s six reactors - and they do have a kill switch... Looks like it’s office buildings on fire.

My guess without reading about it, is that the plant was scrammed in advance and is in a quiescent state not generating power or in danger of a runaway reaction.
And I don’t know about the strength of a reactor container from an outside hit, but I will bet pretty strong.
I am not as concerned as some, but it doesn’t mean bad things can’t happen. Hell, if they are like us, they probably have spent fuel laying all around outside the facility.
I guess I will go read the article and see how off base I am.
