I agree, that Russia appears to want all of Ukraine.
I think given the UN vote, that NATO will eventually get involved. They are just waiting to see how much more of the Russian army Ukraine can destroy.
Then they will issue an ultimatum and deadline to Putin to turn his troops around and withdraw. And if he doesn’t, they will establish air superiority and being attacking the Russian troops from the air. It’ll be a slaughterhouse.
But NATO will probably offer a cessation of some of the sanctions as soon as Putin withdraws. So a carrot and stick approach.
Sure it risks nuclear war. Putin will have to decide if he wants his legacy to be as the one who started a nuclear world when the whole world was against him. The West can only be nuclear blackmailed so much befofe it calls his bluff.
That will mean nuclear war.
That will happen if we send NATO forces into the Ukraine.
Go outside. Look at your family. Your neighborhood. Your way of life.
All will be gone or changed completely in minutes if we do that.
Is eastern Europe worth the major cities in the US and Europe? Who does that benefit if all are removed from the map? Why has nuclear war suddenly being talked about by the same people who wanted us all to die unless we got a shot THREE WEEKS AGO!
The magician is waving his hand above the Ukraine. Look for what the other hand is doing.
” that NATO will eventually get involved”
NATO will never fire the first shot at Russia, and it’s debatable if they would even defend themselves.
Poland will move in before they get it.
Russia only wants the separatist regions. Eastern parts.
And they want to be part of Russia.
The rest is Nazi hunting and denazification.

I don’t think so. I think this is Blitzkrieg-decap-and-retreat - take major cities, collect or kill the government figures, fall back to the two breakaway provinces. I don’t think Putin wants a long occupation.
Checkout today’s NY Post on line. You are in almost total agreement with Wesley Clark. And I would agree if Russia was the USSR with a Premier responsible to the Politbuto and dedicated Marxists believing that History was on their side. But Putin is evil and insane.
Well, it’s not quite the whole world. China and India abstained from the vote at the UN. China for reasons we all know. India is dependent on Russia for weapons, and, a lot of that is our own fault. However, I wonder if we should make India an offer they can’t refuse.
