The number of COVID cases is touted as though these are sick people.  In fact, "cases" are merely those who test positive for the antigen — almost all of whom are healthy.  COVID deaths are reported in large numbers, even though more than 75 percent of the "deaths" are due to co-morbid, life-threatening pre-existing conditions such as diabetes and chronic lung disease, not because of the virus.  People had good reasons to be confused.

With a constant drumbeat of imminent death, Americans entered the second stage: panic.  Generating public fear was intentional.  In fact, NIAID director Anthony Fauci told policy expert Dr. Scott Atlas, "Yes, they need to be more afraid."

A fearful public naturally turned to the federal government for protection.  Doctors like Fauci and Deborah Birx are bureaucrat M.D.s who do not practice medicine and have no expertise in public policy.  Yet in the name of public health, they recommended policies that took away constitutionally guaranteed freedoms and did irreparable harm to the nation.

The Left is very efficient in taking over Federal agencies. The CDC and NIH now parrot the political line and compromise real science to accommodate the narrative.. Most rational physicians realize this and do not trust these agencies as they once did. So-called practitioners of science were called into question, not real scientists.

When doing my PhD studies, we always quipped the bad joke, “Never let data get in the way of your dissertation.” We knew it was a joke, but it appears to be a rule for future gubmit “scientists”. (And it’s a solid rule for the studies and eddikashun jokesters.)

Absent other information about droplet size and infectiousness, wearing a mask is probably better than not wearing a mask. But at the very beginning of the pandemic the medical experts were saying that wearing a mask was unnecessary and could even be dangerous. Did they say that because they really believed it? No, they just lied to us to preserve masks for medical professionals. It was a "noble lie" for a "good cause". Now maybe rationing masks to only doctors and nurses is the most effective use of limited resources, but they lied right from the beginning.

How much more have they lied? Did they really believe therapeutics were worthless? Or did they believe that vaccinations were the best overall method but they couldn't get them through in an emergency usage with effective therapeutics available? Or did they believe that mass vaccination was the most profitable method even if more died through suppression of therapeutics? Who knows?

There's no "victim" here. The medical profession long ago joined the growing ranks of inept bureaucracies run by corrupt misfits, so its demise is all self-inflicted.

Anyone with half a brain would have known something was wrong early on in this COVID scam when people in government and media began citing Bill Gates -- a college dropout with no medical training -- as some kind of infectious disease expert.
