Trump must bear responsibility for these 2 awful picks
With help from others. Nobody had a problem with it at the time.
People at the time said that Bill Barr would be excellent for this gig, that Trump couldn’t find anybody better (h/t Rush Limbaugh.) And when it was all over and Barr resigned, conservative talkers were saying Barr was an excellent Attorney General, a real class-act (h/t Mark Levin.) If the “real conservatives” said he was a great pick, then ya’ll can’t criticize Trump after the fact.

Dittoe with Sessions and Pence. I remember conservative talk radio at 6pm at the time saying on the Pence pick, “Wow! I never thought Trump would pick someone so conservative, Mr. Producer.” On Sessions they said it wasn an “outstanding” pick. But when things went bad with Sessions, they accused Trump of “attacking” Sessions. Then they finally agreed with Trump that Sessions must resign.
You are right. We all got led down a primrose path by the deep state. That includes Trump.
I hadn’t realized how thoroughly corrupt, arrogant, debauched, and entirely unaccountable those who work for the government are.
Trump was an outsider who had no idea how deep the RINO deep state went. He trusted the wrong people and got burned.
A legit criticism of Trump was that he was too trusting of the deep state.
True enough - of the two, Levin is the worst at this. For all his sturm und drang, he’s just as managed as any other media type.
I recall the weeks before Turtle’s last reelection - Levin screaming about how bad he was and how he had to be held to account. Three days before the election, and it ‘looked’ like Mitch would lose, Levin began screeching that he had to be elected so as to not ‘lose the Senate’. Mitch wins, and immediately flops to the left, sneering at the cameras the whole time.
People think they can have change without discomfort - that is a lie.
